Need help with Warlock buildFollow

#1 Aug 03 2007 at 8:25 PM Rating: Decent
Me and my hubby just reached level 10 and I've had no experience with warlocks so we need some help. We're looking for a build thats mainly PvP (raids and BG's) I've read that demonology is a good way to go, one of the builds I saw was 20/31/0 which is from here http://wowvault.ign.com/View.php?vie...etail&id=49046
So is this a good build for raids and BG? If not, can someone help me with this? I'm not necessarily looking for exactly which ones I should go into (that would be helpful though) but which spec I should mainly go into (demonology, affliction, or destruction)

Gonna be doing a lot of raiding and BGs at 10 are you?

Um no, I meant later on. I can't go into one spec and not have raids in mind and then when I hit level 50 try to switch over. Thats why you need to do it earlier, genius. Also I can do BG at level 10 so I don't know what you're talking about. So if you don't know what you're talking about or if you're not going to contribute then don't post.

So you're saying you only have the mental capacity to learn one spec, and you will never try any others because it would be too much to learn? Also, what kind of raiding are you going to be doing at 50?

And please, please don't tell me that I don't know what i'm talking about and then say that you're going to do battlegrounds at level 10.

My point in my smartass comment was that you don't need a raiding spec at level 10, you need a leveling spec. Lucky for you, the best spec for leveling with a Warlock (1-56 leveling at least) is also pretty much the best PVP/BG spec as well, and that is Affliction.

No, I wasn't talking about one spec. I never even thought of only going into one spec, I meant the spec where I would have the most talent points in but since every time I try to come here for help I get smartass comments like yours so I'm going somewhere else from now on.

A spec is the total allocation of all your talent points. The three different categories you can put points into are talent trees. You can have points in more than one tree but where all of your points are is still called your "spec".

And what I'm saying is that the best "spec" for leveling and BGs is to put ALL of your first 41 points into the Affliction talent tree.

Coming here and asking about ultimate endgame spec at level 10 cant get you much more but smartass comments.

What I did was:

- around your level I decided I do like my lock and will probably (not definitely) level her much more
- read all stickies
- went affliction until level 20
- went destro until 25 to see how I like it (I didnt)
- went back to affliction and changed my talents about 30 times untill level 48 or so
- started mixing demo into affliction
- changed my talents combinations some 30 times more
- switched to 41 point demo at level 64
- put my last point in shadowburn at level 70 and stayed 7/43/11 ever since

Now you would probably call me noob because I never had such a defined raiding/BG future for my lock.... heck I dont have any defined future for her even now.
I would suggest you simply read forums and play the game. That way you can see what kind of playstyle suits you and therefore what kind of spec you might like or find useful some day.
