Hello all

Opened an email from a warrior friend which included a link to this character:

http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Magtheridon&n=Landolph

Candidly speaking,I know little about DW Fury, but I do recognize insanely good gear when I see it :) My question is simply this: what kind of raid DPS is a warrior like this capable of?
And despite the aggro dump advantage rogues have,is it reasonable to assume Landolph can math the DPS output of his guild's combat specced rogues?

My friend also included a two footnotes: The first being that if you don't see a 17/44 DW Fury spec, you will see an Arms/Fury PvP spec. The link I am posting shows DW Fury as of 10:00 PM EST this day.
Second footnote is that that Warrior (and his team) were the #1 ranked 3V3 team for last season,so disregard the "lowly" current #5 ranking. Hah. Eeeesh...

Look forward to some news from the Fury Pros here. Thank you :)

Aprox. 1374 DPS, give or take 13.7 DPS, depending upon the phases of the moon.

...what exactly were you looking for?

You can't really math up how much dps someone can do by looking at gear and spec. It's all situational, buffs, fight type, number of mobs, mob type, debuffs on said mobs, etc.

Given he could up his dps some by tweaking his build and picking up dps talents (imp heroic strike) while dumping non-dps talents (unbreakable will).

Though I must agree he does have some insane gear.

And like Zip I'll take a stab in the dark and say that if properly buffed he could sustain 1400ish on a single target where threat is a factor.

If you haven't seen it there is a video up on warcraft movies of a DW fury warrior pulling 2000 sustained in the shade of Akama fight, but that is situational. Multiple mobs with no threat issue, plus akama has a debuff that makes him take extra dmg.

Lol,yeah, well, sorry for leaving out the qualifiers RP. Next time I'll include links for Tide Charts and Solunar Tables I use for RL fishing. You seem to be able to crunch numbers better than most actuaries, but the ballpark numbers both you and Jimpadan provided work just fine,as I have a much clearer idea now as to what some Uber-geared Endgame DW Fury warrior can crank out,DPS wise. Thanks Jimpadan for taking the time to checkout that warrior's talent point spread.

Call me petty, but I'll steer a well-geared 70 rogue I know (Combat specced Swords) this way for a look-see. He won't like what he sees when he reads the numbers. He's a good guy but (hard to imagine in a rogue) *cough*,a bit arrogant
on his DPS perspective. Those numbers should open at least one of his eyes.

My thanks to you both

Otis

I didn't see a windfury buff, but did see 'extra attack'. Can I assume sword spec?

They also cycled extra shaman in to keep heroism up on him.

On topic, you could always just make an alt on his server and ask him what kind of dps he can crank out. Any dps warrior that progressed will parce theirselves regularly. Course he does play in europe so you might have a language barrier.

Odds of being able to find someone who speaks at least passable English in his guild are pretty high though; I've lost count of the number of EU guilds that speak in English almost all the time (Nihilum and Curse not being the least of them).

EU or US servers, english is the used language on most of the realms. Sure, some servers are all-french and all-german and what not. And there are of course guilds that are all-whatever. I doubt there'll be any language barrier.

I'm from europe, Jim, do you find a language barrier with me? :)

I never said it was a certainty. I know for a fact that Kungen, their guild master speaks english. Just stated that it might be a problem.

Wasn't trying to correct you, just making sure the person who was inquiring about it wouldn't just dismiss the idea simply because it's EU ;)

I've seen a screenshot on Nihilum's website showing Landolph with 3700 AP (buffed ofc) with all sorts of procs and trinkets increasing his haste rating to an extreme (I think his weapon speed on BOTH weapons was under 1.0). He was churning out in the region of 2500 dps and 2100 tps !!! Insane ! Everyone else on the damage meter on his screen was under 1000 for both !

I can get higher than 4000 AP, so I wouldn't count that as too amazing... the haste is rather nice, though.

Yha I'm seriously considering going mace spec for dragonmaw now instead of my black planar edge simple for the haste proc. Given I'll give up some stats (21 crit rating and 44 AP).

Do it! The mace is awesome.

Anyway... I just made that number up, I have absolutely no idea what the DPS numbers can or should be. It'll depend heavily on buffs, the fight itself, the armor value of the mobs... *shrug*

If geared equal to the rest of the raid a fury warrior 17/44 should be on top or damn near the top of every encounter that doesnt require melee to stop dps or chase adds (Curator, Prince come to mind). Even as a hybrid such as 5/41/15 your dps should be close to the top. Like previous posters stated, no one can give you numbers because just about every fight in BC is more than just tank and spank.

A well played rogue may be able to equal or out dps some fury warriors, but it's about equal. The downside to fury warriors is that it can get hard to find heroic groups while you dont have CC.
