Osiris' Rogue Guide v3.0Follow

I have been a rogue since version 2 of the guide Osiris had put together. I followed the advice and did the stunlock thing and had kicked butt and took names. After a huge break to do the military thing I came back and realized that all the old tactics that I had been using as a stunlocker were rather obsolete and lo and behold I found a version 3 that Oriris had put together. Again following the basic advice provided I brought my game to a new level in the expansion and get a few comments here and there on how well I do as a rogue. I have done nothing but followed the guide provided and it worked wonders. I have to say if you are reading this Osiris that what you have done is actually quite awesome and you have reached quite a few rogues out there in rogueland. I am fairly confident that this guide will help anyone looking for information on what to do with a rogue. All the information might not be for everyone but there is enough info in there to provide more than enough of a stepping stone to springboard your own character into the game quite nicely.

Cheers Osiris and thanks again for everything.

A month and a half is over a year on the interwebs.

Not a bump, just giving props.

To reply to a thread that has seen no activity is a bump.

It is too god damned early in the morning for me to get frustrated with stupidity over the interwebs.

Sorry, I can't read your guide. In the first couple of paragraphs, you have FallenSword linked and I'm a Gothadorian.

Osiris,I have read your whole guide,if not,90percent of it. The thing is I haven't even started wow and I found your guide really detailed, helpful and a compilation of many important things. But i want to ask you about one thing,if I'm not wrong you mentioned in your guide that improved slice and dice was extremely useful, but in the combat swords build that you wrote, I didn't see any " improved slice and dice". You also mentioned that improved poison was good, but you never used it since there's shiv......but in the combat swords build you added one point to it.

And you said you would only add deflection for riposte but in the build i was confused why you added deflection to 4/5. And you said you added "lightning reflexes" to 5/5 but you said too that you would only add it just to get other skills.

But I'm just very confused about the "improved slice and dice part".Is weapon expertise important? I don't really understand that part and I was thinking that is it possible not to reduce 3 points from the not so important ones(lightning reflexes, improved poison, deflection) and add it to improved slice and dice instead.

I am sorry if I am taking a lot of your time and effort to answer my question but I would really appreciate it if you could answer me because I a newbie and you answering my questions would be a great help to me.

And by the way your guide is AWESOME,I even had some really important things printed out and put into a file lol =)

My personal view is that Imp SnD is a must have in PvE. Drop whatever you have to to get it. The reason for that is that you'll use it on most mobs, except the trash that drops super fast and certainly on all bosses.

In PvP... I personally don't use it because I have better alternatives. Like obviously KS or EA/Rupture (on plate wearers) or even Evisc if it finishes off the target.

Imp Poison IS good. And Shiv doesn't replace it. Imp Poison is a passive talent (active at all times) while Shiv is a special attack that eats energy, which could be better spent on sth else (SS if you're Combat specced). If you have points to save in Assassination, Imp Poisons is always a good choice since more poison applied is always good. Save Shiv for when you need a poison applied immediately.

Agreed. I have either 0 or 5/5 in deflection, depending on whether I'm taking Riposte or not (which I have now and find absolutely excellent, not only does it disarm the target but it does 150% dam... that's huge... and it's going to be even better when Hemo gets nerfed).

Also agree on LR: more dodge is always a nice boost but not a must have. I use it as a preferred filler... but still a filler.

Thanks nostraaa I really appreciate it but I'm sure Orisis has his reasons for adding in this way. Maybe you would like to read his guide.

You're very sweet to recommend that I read Osiris' Guide, but I already have. Just like I have read every other stickie and every other post on this board over the last 9 months (my nearly 500 posts are on the rogue board exclusively). Thanks.

This being said, feel free to take advice from whomever your prefer.

It would actually be cool if Osiris could prove me wrong on the advice I gave above, making me a better rogue.
