I know I complained about it once before, but now I'm really complaining.
Awhile back I got the gladiator's shanker (during season 1). The dagger, although it had somewhat of a cool design, was frankly too big (my level 56 paladin's two hander was actually shorter than this dagger). I just threw it off as being blizzard's way of showing bigger is better. Surely in the future they'd come up with more cool dagger designs.
I don't know why, but recently I took to looking at the other arena daggers as well. Do you know what the Gladiator's Shiv, Gladiator's Shanker, Merciless Gladiator's Shiv and Merciless Gladiator's Shanker all have in common?
THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME MODEL.
Four daggers, all of which look perfectly identical save for different shades of color and such. Please, even though season 3 is a long way off, come up with something better than a red version of the current season's weapon.

Yes, that's correct. All season 2 weapons use the same model as their season 1 counterparts. In addition main hand and off hand weapons look the same, too.
Get this... they also share models with.... dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn, thier bretheren from raid content.
S2 Dagger is the same as Blade of Unrequited or w/e From R&J.
S@ 2H mace is same as World Breaker, etc.

Key word is everyone Kids think that big bad weapons are very very cool and it's biggest category of players. Blizz make them happy - their parents pay to Blizz.
perfect example. krol blade sells for more than 3x an assasin's blade on my server. krol is better yes, but not 3x...but if you factor in the size and ZOMG ITS PURPLE factor...
i agree though sometimes i get disappointed with the pictures, how expensive is it to have a larger database? a .gif is like what 1mb at most?
