Totally retarded...(I am)Follow

Hello,

I've rolled the class of a druid, at lvl 44, tauren.

I have realized over the time I've been playing that I am possibly the worst at dueling. I have an idea of what I need to do, however when I try to do it, I end up looking like a ****** when I just keep switching forms, and not doing any damage what so ever.

My idea is as follows:

1) Cat form: Stealth, go to a back corner.
2) Pop out to caster form when he / she is looking away and sleep the pet if they have one. Then switch forms.
3) Either Bear: and charge then bash then hit, or Travel: run up then switch to bear (doesnt seem like too good of an idea).
4) Cat form: build up combo by claw. Switch forms again.
5) Caster form: pop HoT on myself. Sleep pet again.
6) BearL bash, and hit again.
7)Cat Form: use rip, then gain 3 or 4 combo points again. Then use ferocious bite...

And so on and so on.

However when I try to use this strategy, I get all screwed up and end up doing everything wrong...

I was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice on this matter.

Thank you,
Gimptard

It's Prowl, not Stealth, btw...

There's not really a need to do step 2, since the moment you go prowling a nice flare would be right next to you. Don't really worry about the pet.

Go kitty, open with pounce, shred from the back, rake once every so often to keep the DoT up and claw, rip, by this time he should have already got out of the stun and started hitting you, so get out, war stomp, regrowth, then at this point you do need a bit of know-how of when to do what...

Only way to improve is to keep doing it. I don't do much dueling, but when I started doing bg I was just like you describe. For me it was a matter of adrenaline. I know, it's "just a game", but when battle starts my heartbeat increases and my breathing gets shallow.

When I first started I would end up just mashing keys faster and faster, looking like a total dork, and being killed quite quickly. A few thousand hk's later...well, I still end up mashing keys, but they are more often the right ones. And more and more often it's the other guy taking the dirt nap.

I think the key to success in pvp is to stay calm and do what you know you should do. You just have to keep at it.

insectswarm...moonfire...rejuv...wrath...warstomp...regrowth...barkskin...
starfire...starfire...rejuv... If he ain't dead...Nature's Grasp...back up...regrowth...wrath spam...the end.

Lost a duel twice last night to a 48 enhancement shammy, but this formula is my usual, and seems to work.

I duelled a Nelf druid last night on my 32 druid. My strategy? He stealthed first, got the first hit in because I stealthed too slow. So I then clawed him until I had enough combo points and used the new finishing move I got at level 32 (forgot the name, Ravage maybe?). He tried to pop out of cat and hit me with entangling roots but I was quicker and he lost before the cast bar even finished. We are the same level, but I think I'm better geared because his health bar was dropping faster than mine while we were beating each other up in cat form. Or maybe I'm better at moving around him while spamming claw.

I usually stealth then use ravage if I can, rake then start clawing. If he isn't near death I'll rip at 5 combo and keep clawing, then ferocious bite (while keeping rake up the entire time). If I get low I'll pop out, warstomp, regrowth+rejuv then go into bear and start dpsing. If I get low again, bash, regrowth+rejuv then travel form for distance, healing touch (depending on how much health I have, I'll use different ranks), then back into cat form (running around until full energy bar). Either I die sometime during that process or he dies (usually before second cat). That's only my general fight though. If I'm fighting a class like a warrior or rogue I'll change my strategy (like with rogues, get a couple combo points, rip, then go into bear).
