Arena help!Follow

I just dinged 70. Im using the 30/0/31 specc dagger.
My patner is a full epic mage or warlock.
we usaly just sap one and nuke the other one and blind the saped target if we
need more time or he use pvp trinket.

I would really need some tactic or something as a rogue.
i open with SS bs KS bs bs evis and with the mage it dosent really take more
cuz of pom pyro. But with the warlock or in 1v1 it just dosent do it.
I know my gear is crappy cuz i just dinged 70 but am i doing anything wrong?

Also what should i get first the Arena dagger or some gear?
Starting with karaz in 2-3 days so i will get better gear maybe even a dagger
if im lucky.

Thx for the help!

Kara gear isn't going to make your life easier.

You need to get up to 10k HP as fast as you can and get resilience if you want to have any chance at all on a DPS/DPS team.

If there's a healer, you need to burn down the healer first.

Priority targets are classes that can apply DoTs and kite: Warlocks and SPriests.

Tell your mage partner to respec Frost. Fire is crap in PvP.

Your Warlock buddy should be UA or SL spec. If he doesn't know what those are, he's an idiot. Have fun in the 1300s.

You posted next to nothing about your own character; we need more info to best advise you on gear and spec, but I'll throw this out there right now: if you're not combat swords/maces/fists or mutilate, you're not going to get far in arena.

If you've got a lot of skill you might be able to make a 21/0/40 Hemo spec work, but other than that, most builds are not good for arena, especially a crit-dependant build like 30/0/31.

UA is poor in 2v2 with a rogue, unless the warlock has the gear for it... siphon life/SL/ 'drain tanking' warlocks do okay with rogues for 'shizzle'

rogue/mage requires coordination, and both of you need hp and resilience (fire works okay if you guys can get it synced up, but frost is a LOT easier)

get a mh weapon right away, buy green 'of stamina' gear... grind out the pvp gear, and socket everything with 9/12 stamina or 8 resilience

you need at least 8.5k to even stand a chance vs most high end teams, 9.5k-11k is more like it, but for a fresh 70 get to 8.5k

coordinate your cc better too, call it out on vent

sap-fear-blind-fear is a decent combo with the lock
sap-sheep-blind-gouge-sheep for the mage

try to get more matchs with the lock, hes a better partner

So u want more info on my char. I have like 7k hp 1243 AP and 18% critt.
just dinged 70 so dont have any instance gear. just some quest rewards.
I have the 30/0/31 specc dagger. u said its not good in arena so im gonna go multi specc but first i need a 2 dagger.

And for my partners the mage will not specc frost cuz he hates it even tho i told him over 100 times its alot better for his arena and world pvp but he just wont do it.

and for the lock im not sure what specc he as. havent even played with him yet. cuz i dinged 70 yesterday so.

I will grind for some pvp rewards asap but still dont konw if i should go for the pvp dagger 71 dps or try to find someting better. allready have a 71 dps from ah need 1 more for the multi specc. Been thinking of grinding some KOT rep for the 81 epic dagger.

And i usaly go for the sap > blind > sap then he sheep
And for the warlock im not sure. like i said havent played with him yet.

Thx for the help!

if you rotate your two cc's, it keeps the diminishing returns more balanced, and thats useful (esp. if one of you dies)

the 71 dps pvp dagger is a nice offhand to your ced's carver

it has good hp and a lil resil

get (in my opinion)

71 dps dagger
blue gloves
blue shoulders
epic cloak
epic neck
epic (whatever slots you need the most)
the 20 resil pvp trinket (break 1 cc)
the 34 resil pvp trinket (heal self for 900)

Mongoose, SL Locks are Soul Link Locks, not Siphon Life Locks. Smiley: tongue

i meant it like siphon life and soul link, not sl = siphon life

come on now... gimme a lil credit, when you mention siphon life, you gotta say it.. a lot of demon locks get the felguard, or they get shadowburn... bein soul link dun mean your a full on drain tank lock ;)

My 2v2 partner is a warlock. We have been together for 1 month and use vent to co-ordinate our CC's. We have streaks of 5 or 6 wins in a row and sometimes the same in losses. When we quit today we were at 1544 I think, which I'm honestly happy with considering my partner is mostly in level 70 quest-reward greens. With his paranoia and healthstones, we make a pretty good team overall, and we're only going to get better with better gear. Our biggest pain is the Paladin/Warrior combo. We've only actually defeated that combo once.

As a rogue, you have to play smart and know your weaknesses. For example, Hunters with flare and Shaman with earthbind totems can take you out of stealth within range. You may CloS in stealth, allowing you to walk through the flare or totem, to these opponents to sap/start the fight, but it's almost never advised. I'm getting to the point where I can dps down a warlock faster than his dots can do to me, I sometimes don't need CloS. But against a frost mage...well, if I don't have it...gg.
