Hi all

I am new to this healing lark, as i normally play warlock =) I'm looking for an addon that will help me to be an effective healer in BGs. I'm trying out the healer thing rather than shadowpriest as i wanted a complete change from DPS. At the moment i'm just trying to get used to standing still to cast ;)

I'm using Whammy at the moment which I've really liked for PVE healing, but it seems to get confused in BG's (as the groups get swapped around so quickly), and i'm also having trouble quickly targeting and judging who is in range around me that needs a heal.

Can anyone point me to an addon that either compliments Whammy, or recommend one that is good for PVE and PVP?

Thankyou =D (and sorry if i've missed something obvious about it in the FAQ's :S )

Grid is what I use for raiding and BGs.

The nice thing about Grid is it puts a little mark on whoever is being attacked so you know who needs healing as opposed to who is just a little down on health. Also it grays out the name box of players who are out of range so you can focus on people in range.

I've become addicted to Healbot in WSG (10-19 bracket)lately. I'll have to check out Grid and see what that's about.

I have Healbot set for 1-click Fortitude on everyone and Inner Fire on myself. I've got Renew set for left click on the target, the Dispell on middle click, and one of my longer heals on right-click.

Then you can totally get into shift/ctrl/alt clicking and 4th/5th buttons.

I like Grid as well. Finally got around to having it completely replace my raidframes. It takes some getting used to, but once you are used to it, it's great. Easy-to-see health bars and really easy to see who needs dispelled, and once you get used to it more and tinker with some of the settings, the out-of-range range indicator, HoT and Shield icons are really easy to pick out. The main downside to it as your main unit frames in healing would probably be that you can't see all buffs and debuffs at once.

I just recently started using HealBot in WSG (19). It is amazing. My healing has gone through the roof. It took a couple of times in WSG to get my configuration set up in a way that I like, but now that I am in there, I am healing at least three times as much (raw amount healed) than I was without any addon.

I'll put in another vote for healbot. I was doing pretty good at healing in BGs before I got it. Once I got it though, I put flash heal and shield on the left key, and some stronger heals on the right key and dominated. After a few matches i was almost always the top healer in arathi and alterac (at level 59).

Got a lot of compliments on my healing once I got it too. :)

I switched to the XPerl unit frame add-on for BG healing.
It fades out people who are out of range and/or at full health (you can disable it, however), and is really nice to look at but takes some memory respectively.

After reading this, I might check out Grid, HealBot doesn't work on my comp.

I put a vote in for Grid myself. It can be a bit tough to configure however.
