1) Engineering (as far as I know) is a fairly rare choice for mages.

2) Have you read the stickies at the top of the forum?

3) You didn't link your potential build, but only the site to make one.

4) herb/alch is a very common profession combo -- although if this is your first character I would take two gathering professsions (herb+skinning, mining+skinning, or herb+mining -- just remmeber that you cannot track both types)

I made a few changes for you:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?2300550000230100000000000000000000000000000000535322310235010201000

Because you will not most likely be using arcane missiles (as you will be a frost mage) you do not need to waste 5 talent points in a fairly mana inefficient skill/talent.

I left you with two points to either be put into arcane mind (more int) or empowered frostbolt (more dmg) that will be left up to you. I also moved some points around and put them into shatter and ice shards in the frost tree -- trust me, you will want those for some nice healthy damage, especially after frostbite procs.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Try This

PvE?

PvP?

This build will be ok for the occational BG or Dual. It's strong point though is solo ability. Good mana effecientcy, less resists, nice crit rate & all those fancy survival tools a Frosty can muster.
