I plan on trying to setup my character like this (eventually :P) so that I can be an effective healer. I actually posted something similar a few days ago about a build using Mind Flay, but figured after some of the comments that I would try to repost as just a pure healer. What I don't know (since there is no FAQ for priests other than Shadow) is which talents are actually the most effective to take. I figured all the spirit boosters and spirit buffs would be a nice way to buff up my healing (I may even be Human just for the spirit buff, even though I'll lose Symbol of Hope and Fear Ward, but is it really worth it?) but I'm not sure if they are actually better than other talents or not.

Anyway, any advice is more than appreciated :)

Few thoughts...

Max out Mental Agility, take 1 pt from Silent Resolve.

When you start healing Nightbane (Karazhan) or Gruul, reconsider Unbreakable Will over Wand Spec.

Otherwise, pretty good healbot spec.

Yay, for once I have a build that works, it's a miracle. Thanks for the advice, I've made the changes so far.

Now I just have to start actually leveling my little priest :P I'm doing Disc/Holy all the way from level 10 (since I have a leveling partner) so I'll at least be able to get lots of practice in healing (although not much large group practice maybe, at least not until WC)

[edit] Is giving up Symbol of Hope and Fear Ward worth the extra spirit buff of humans? Those two powers seem like they might outweigh a little extra spirit...

Keep your Fear Ward. It's not a mandatory racial ability, but it is often asked for and nice to have.

Dont roll ally :S

xD.. The build looks okay for a leveling holy-disc build, but as pointed out u should make sure to max meditation.

I think you should move the two points from improved divine spirit and max out your empowered healing. The extra 8% in empowered healing would give you about 160 +healing (greater heal) or 80 +healing (flash heal) based on 2000 +healing from gear. If you have about 400 spirit, the 10% of spirit from Imp Divine Spirit would give you 40 +healing.

The Improved Divine Spirit isn't only for me though, it's for anybody else in the group who could benefit from the ability. And in the second post I made, I have the new build up, I did change it up to max out that talent. Feels sort of strange to not have my thread reduction maxed out though.

you don't need max Silent Resolve. I go away with only 4 points, any maybe i could do with 3.

True. I have 4/5 and I never draw aggro.

Regarding Silent Resolve, is the secondary effect of reducing the chance that spells will be able to be dispelled not worth more than 3 or 4 points also?

If you PvP, then yes. If you don't PvP, then you don't need 5/5 Silent Resolve.

I usually only go 3/5 Silent Resolve for PvE healbotting. Never pull aggro unless it's just a stupid move on my part.
