Ok all just started a mage and am up to big lvl 7 and all ready thinking about a talent build. What do yhou all think of this build.. feel free to point out the many mistakes I am sure I made and repost links with builds you think would be better... Oh and I spose it would help to know that i am going for biggest burst DMG and plan to be soloing and douing with an affliction lock most of the time

It is difficult to recommend as you are such a low level and you don't really say what you want to be doing, be it PvP or PvE, if you plan to do instances with this lock or just plan to group and do quests. Also, during your leveling, as you get more points you will probably end up respeccing once you can get some better talents in various areas (like the arcane tree). Do you plan on raiding at 70 (long way off I know)? Look around for echou's post about talent build progresion, it should help you out.

No I dont plan on raiding it will be for solo/duoing with the lock and will be mainly PVE questing and just killin crap. Really I am just looking for big hits as the lock does the DoT dps

I did a bit more reading and think I will be going with the spec below.

Although I am unsure of how good of a choice impact would be for your build so I put the points into burning soul, you may want to throw those into improved scorch.

OK first thanx for the feed back and I think I will move them points to imp. scorch there is really no need to stun the target when the plan is for it to be on lock pet or running away from me lol and second I know i will more than likely be going after corpe alot but I dont really mind just looking for the fun of big crits while running around with the wife.. And Dilbert what spec is your wifes lock? My wife is going to be going affliction or demon not real sure yet she sees me on my lock and thinks maybe she wants to do the Affliction like me but not sure if that is best for our plans....
