Aldor or Scryers as a comabt swords rogueFollow

#27 Aug 02 2007 at 6:27 AM Rating: Decent
This conversation has gotten completely out of hand. I am a lurker and I must say this appears to happen often on this forum. I learn so much about my rogue from this forum and I read it everyday. I don't often post because I'm learning rather than having any insight to share. The members of this community (Nooble et. al.) have been a valuable part of my (quasi-)mastery of the rogue class.

That being said, it takes an act of courage to post a thread on this board. I can admit that I am far too much a coward to do so (I prefer 'sensitive person' but cest la vie). I have benefited greatly from those who were brave enough to ask a "stupid" question. I would just like to throw out there that this is OUR community and WE can choose how we treat each other, right? That means taking time with your posts AND being forgiving when people do not AND suggesting corrections in a friendly manner. I'm not trying to criticize anyone; just pointing out that we can choose to be more understanding and friendly.

Or not.

Why must I join the ****** threads so late? T.T

Anyways to the OP (which at this point sounds like a nice guy/gal just a little lazy), if you did research before this point, you would be asking specific questions and not a generalized question, and to all the lazy idiots out there, that is the one and only indicator any of us need to call you out for being stupid.

Let me find you guys a good "I need help with X" thread; from the DnT forums (which also gets alot of dumbasses who are treated a hell of alot meaner than here):

So I just registered for these forums because I'd like to get some opinions on speccing BM. I started playing WoW about a month before the release of TBC, but at the I was told hunter raid dps was all about marks, and marks I went (I also have to admit I didn't have much respect for being a 2min hunter in pvp).

Before the patch came out giving BM hunters and their pets much more viability in raids, my guild had cleared Kara, downed Maulgor, and seen Gruul to 50ish% I think. I never had any problems topping meters (as MM) in Kara, and I was usually able to take top spot on Maulgor and Gruul attempts, although occasionally a 10/48/3 mage would beat me.

To make a long story short, I took a hiatus from my hunter and am just now returning, and it seems like the hunters I see in your kill shots (as well as the general consensus on the hunter boards and EJ forums) are now all about BM. With that in mind, I was planning to respec, but I had a couple questions about it.

Namely, what are you guys doing for shot rotations as bm? You no longer have the talented multi shot, so are you just doing a straight auto-steady rotation, or are you still doing an auto-steady-multi-auto-steady-auto-steady-arcane-auto kind of deal? I know that was mana intensive, but if I wasn't willing to burn some pots I wasn't going to keep up with/beat locks and mages in Gruuls. Kill Command see any use? It wasn't really worth the GCD pre-patch, and even when off the GCD was pretty lackluster as MM.

What about gear/socket choices, specifically w/ regards to AP/Crit balancing? I was using this spreadsheet from EJ http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t9816-hu...s_development/ (Cheeky's btw) as a rough guide, but you have any opinions?

Finally, what about pets? I had been rocking a Windserp for the longest time (Son of Hakkar ftw). GFTT and LB were pretty hot, or so I was told. However, LB scaling w/ ap was changed, and I'm no longer sure if its damage scales with AP or spell dmg--if its the latter then its obviously not scaling at all. Would a ravager with Gore be better overall DPS now?

Sorry for this wall of text, hopefully you have a goodly amount of resilience. I guess it boils down to three questions (4 if you count KC). Here is my armory so you can take a look at gear and comment accordingly. http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/ch...on&n=Tilethryn

Thanks in advance, look forward to trolling your boards.

See? The person obviously covered as much as he/she could before asking the question of how to use BM for a Hunter.
