draenei over gnome mage?Follow

Is it worth going Draenei over gnome for the heals? Or is escape artist ftw?

I ask because i pvp a fair amount but would also think overall draenei would be more logical due to the heal factor.

yes/no/thoughts?

Im also looking into making a mage alt for pvp mostly but cant decide between draenei and gnomes. Id also like to add gnomes get a bonus 5% intel in addition to escape artist and iv heard the gift of naru doesnt heal for a whole lot.

Personally i think a male draenei in cloth looks worse than gnomes do lol.. looks aside is the heal worth the loss of escape artist and 5% intel?

The 1% spell racial is for party members only, it doesn't even affect the draenei player. The hot they get, Gift of the Naru, just rocks. I have 3 draenei alts and the hot scales up with level and makes a difference. I think my lvl 26's are at 80 to 85 per tick right now on their hot. It's quite a bit for a freebie.

And besides, gnomes are just annoying.

For PvP? IMO Gnome

For Group PvE? IMO Any

For Solo PvE? IMO Draenei

But the game won't shut down if you pick differently, so it's your choice and any will work.

GotN racial is not as good as escape artist for PvP. Most cases you'll end up dead anyways well before you get the full healing effect. Conjured Food is just as good when you do actualy have time for Gift to run its course, because you'll most likely be out of combat.

Any ability to get out of snares is huge for a mage because snares kill mages very quickly. It's our goal to snare & kill the opponent, not get snared. Blink, Trinket, Escape Artiest... 3 nice abilities for survival and victory.

Plus... the bigger the target, the more likely you'll become the target.

Don't forget Hume thou... bonus on rep is very nice.

No, you don't, you only have it when in a party. Outside of grouping, it's useless. I have *three* draenei so I'm well aware of how those two racials work.
