very nice guide, the non-raid/heroic list helps tons, as i am facing the inevitabe respec from enhance lol.

I'll make an enchancement guide in a couple of weeks. I don't play a lot of enchancement so it's hard for me to judge the gear correctly.

Sorry I didn't see this until today.

The math looks solid on the enchant but there are a couple things I question.

First is the practical nature of the enchant. A 3% proc rate is a really small percentage. Especially when you consider our most used spell is on a 2.5 second cast. I mean that's like 3 procs every 4 mins. For 1500 mana split amongst your group every 4 mins. Now add in the question of the 'hidden' cooldown. If there is a 30-second cooldown on it the actual proc rate will be closer to 2.25%. So now you're looking at 2 procs every 4 mins. Now you're down to 1000 mana every 4 mins split amonst 5 people. I just don't see it. While 1500 or 1000 mana every 4 mins sounds good it doesn't seem nearly as good when you realize it's split amongst 5 people.

Let me step back a second and say that if all 5 people had it AND you raid a WHOLE lot with 10 min fights then perhaps you might find a need for this enchant. Since this guide is aimed at the average toon I'll stick with +81 healing as being the best enchant for the everyday WoWer.

If it checks based on each Chain Heal jump then it will be a tough decision for the raider. I think if that is the case then for a raider SS looks like a excellent choice.

+81 healing is still probably the optimal choice for 5-mans thru Karazhan.


EDIT - I'll mess around with the enchant and see what I see. I'm always pretty skeptical of peoples data in these cases because people seem to over report their numbers. Not to mention you have to ask why the proc rate is listed at 3% but is being reported at 15% or higher.

Question about gear (this seems the best thread to ask on):

I am currently doing a Resto/Enhance build with a strong emphesis on Enhancement and only about 10 points in Resto. When I get to about 65+ I will (depending on Guild needs and such) probably end up going full resto. BUT for the next 30+ levels I'll be mostly Enhancement with a minor in Restoration. My question is: Is there a guide like this very, very nice on for Enhancement specc'd Shammies? I know that if I come across any Resto gear I'll hold onto it in the event I respec, but in the meantime I'm playing Enhancement.

I haven't done one as of yet. I probably won't be doing one in the future either.

There are a few reasons for this.

1) I leveled from 60-70 via Elemental and thus most of the quest rewards for enhancement/hunter mail I completely ignored.

2) It seems to me that the gear choices for Enhancement are pretty limited and that you'd need to rely on a lot of leather in order to get your hit rating where it will help you (in the 220's I think if you have both +hit talents). Thus I'd hate to make a depressing list.

Perhaps someday I'll do one. I wasn't going to do an Elemental one until I got a bug up my butt one morning and just did it. So who knows. But at least for the time being I don't have one.
