A pair of High Warlords Razor seem to be the best choice of daggers.

Those will last you until 70. Not enough slow daggers on the way. There might be one or two obscure upgrades, but I'm pretty sure I used mine MH until I got my WBoS.

I was wondering if I should PvP in Combat Swords spec, or should I switch to mutilate?

Mutilate is much better. Combat Swords is pretty bad at PvP until you start doing arenas against people with huge amounts of life and resilience.

If I should PvP in a Mutilate spec, then what daggers should I use until I have enough honor for the High Warlords Razor?

If you can manage to get into an AQ20 group, the Qiraji Sacrificial Dagger is awesome (offhanded that until 64 or 65 I think). The Barman Shanker is a nice MH dagger that's very easy to get, and the Glacial Blade and Lobotomizer are both very good if you don't mind setting yourself back a bit on your quest for HWL Razor x2.

One final question, how do you play as a Mutilate build? I mean what abilities do you use and in what order with what poisons. I know there isn't an attack sequence that will work for every fight, but just a basic outline.
Thanks in advance for any advice or comments.

Basically, you Mutilate until you get 4 or more CPs, then fire off a finisher. In BGs, I'd recommend Deadly/Crippling poison. You'll rarely have a target all to yourself, so Blind and Gouge are non-issues, and Deadly Poison will keep Rogues out of stealth. Healing is also rarely a problem.

Cold blood generally does best on a Mutilate. You can save it for Eviscerate, but the added damage will be nearly identical, and with it on a Mutilate you get the bonus of another CP.

I completely forgot about the Glacial blade. It seems very nice. I plan to get the whole Warlords Vestments(I think it's called) set. So I have to PvP at level 59 in WSG and AB for some of the pieces and also for the neck, belt and ring. I need to save up enough marks for all the lvl 60 items from AB and WSG. I will use the 58 scout's blade (or is it too fast?) and try and find something else. Barman shanker looks like I could get it solo. At 60, I'll start working towards a Glacial Blade. Which part's of the set should I get first? I added all of the honor required for all of this, and it's well over 100k... this'll take a while. I'm going to try and get to 59 over the weekend. With school starting up again, I'd rather PvP for 1 or 2 hours a day than grind and quest.

P.S. Nooble is a Rogue God.

I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure it's fairly decent. What is it, 1.6 or something like that?

Yeah, it's pretty easy. Bring some potions while you're learning Plugger. I'd recommend picking up a sword to do him with, since he's unstunnable and you'll be SS spamming him anyway.

Would depend on your gear, but some pieces are better than others. The boots are awesome, I still have mine for instance soloing. 18 second sprint ftw. After that I'd go cheapest first, and work your way up, unless you're getting a huge upgrade from the chestpiece and hardly one at all from the shoulders, etc.

What do you guys think is the best partnering for a rogue. My gf loves being a rogue and wants that to be her first to hit 70. I however tend to like to tank. I don't mind being a mage either cause the high damage output usually kills stuff fast. druids are ok, but, not my favorite. in any case, lemme know what you think is best, hopefully what i like will be in there, that, or i'll suffer it out as something i do like hehe.

Well, a mage would be decent, but there's no real synergy. Druids are great Rogue partners, as they can tank and heal. Warriors are nice as well, as they can tank or DPS, depending on spec.

There isn't a whole lot you'd be doing duo, though, other than just grinding. For that, you can just pick whichever class you like most, since your primary role will be killing stuff.

lol i just got here to tell exactly the same thing
if you got all the way to mutilate, you will not use backstab anymore at all, so why improved backstab?

Poison Immune mobs are pretty common in Outlands. Elementals are great to grind for cash, and there are a handful of nature immune bosses in raids. It's nice to have the versatility when Mutilate fails you.

Glad to see my work is appreciated. I posted a few more links to other nice guides about various things. The links can be found at the very top of the guide.

Thanks to EonSprinter, Theophany, Demea and Osiris for their contributions.

nooble will you be updating the build descriptions (as of new patch) in this topic or starting a new one ?

Mainly because i'm thinking of waiting untill the allmighty nooble writes it in Orc (low INT, you know) terms before i switch my muti spec :)

Heh, yeah. I'll type it up once I get the chance.

Updates all around are going to be scarce for a while, though. I had eye surgery two days ago (cornea transplant), so I have some extreme light sensitivity issues. I can use the computer as long as the background is fairly dark (even Alla hurts a bit). Looking at the white background of a text editor is excruciatingly painful, so I have to wait a bit before I can update with the new info.

i have read many forums in my search for ROGUEDOM...this is the only one where i can find honest, non-insulting answers to all questions..no flaming because you might mis-state something, voice you opinions(right or wrong), mis-spell something or invoke the ire of the great, all-knowing POWER..for that i congratulate you all and hope it continues to be just what it is..a helpful, sincere, informational forum...congratulation Nooby in keeping it just that..

Ok I'm tired of being told to go this way and that way. I'm a combat rogue. Swords in both hands. Currently level 12 after having to start over. I have 2 points into Improved SS. And 1 in Remorseless attacks. Keep in mind. I'm soloing right now. No pvping. No grouping unless its for DM or SM when I get there. I have read every build in the forum including Demea's builds. But everyone tells me there end game builds.

Is lightning reflexes that important. And Impr Slice and Dice. If I'm not really using. Why put points there. Someone...anyone point me in the right direction. I need no pvp skills. Was thinking of taking Riposte. But I'm not touching rogue until I get a reply. So many end games builds and Raiding builds. I've read the low level by level guide. Is it up to date. Thats why I've put one point into remorseless attacks. I'm about to say **** rogue and just be a huntard. But I can't. I like rogue to much. Stealth...sap....pickpocket...then kill. Love it.

Group of 3's....stealth pick pocket them all if there humanoids and they don't have holes in there pockets lol. Sap the highest kill the lowest and finish them off. Warrior can bite me. They can't compare to what a rogue can do. OORAH!

At low levels, you can pretty much use any build you want. The level-by-level guide in Osiris is merely a suggestion of what might be the most efficient way to get the talents. You should think about why you're getting the talents that you are and whether they will be useful to you.

Improved slice and dice. If you're not using S&D then putting points into it won't be useful. You ought to think about what skill you're using with your combo points though. Improved eviscerate is the alternative here.

Riposte. I've never heard of anyone using it. Personally I've never put any points into deflection - improved sprint and endurance always seemed better options to me.

#143 May 24 2008 at 1:17 AM Rating: Default
I won't put points into those either. I use sprint just to get were i'm gong any faster. What about kick. Imp kick. hmmm don't know. Maybe use some points into sub for imp stealth and movement. Or put them into asassination. I'll have to look. Yeah I talked to a friend. He said riposte is a joke. But what about remorseless attack. That would help with grinding wouldn't it. I can always respec out of it later. But Starting off with a massive crit from SS would be great. More killing. :D Anyone show me what a standard Solo rogue build looks like. I won't put any into LR or IMp Slice and dice. I don't even have it on my action bar lol. Thanks
