It's decent for a start, but for leveling you're gonna want 2h for grinding up until you get DW. I'd suggest something like this.

Theo, you still missed 2 handers in that last build you posted.

On another note, I have played a Shaman before on horde and went for an Enhancement/Elemental build for max burst in PvP. That worked well but for my new Draenei I have much more of a PvE focus. The build I am thinking of is this.
Basically looking to give myself decent healing capability while still optimising my damage as much as possible. Any thoughts.

I have the first 5 resto points in Imp HW atm (lesser doesn't cut it yet but from memory get's considerably better at higher levels) but will move them to Tidal Focus when I respec...couple of other things need to be neatened up too.

I experimented with dual wield briefly on my orc when the xp came out but despite the fact it was something I had always wanted for my sham I found it lacking (and after popping a 1652 windfury on herod last night at level 41 there is really no question), and the top tier talents in enhance seem to me to be geared towards powering dw up so I left them out also.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Sunsoar if your looking to be a healer and/or a dps for groups i woud actualy suggest going elemental resto, they help each other out well and you wont need to have as many different sets of armor or weapons. a spec i have been looking at is

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?5500011503021535100000000000000000000000055000050005310000000

this gives you all the important talents in elemental for that great dps and better healing wave which as a resto shaman i must say healing wave is pretty awesome with healing way, this build also offers you NS for those instant heals, I also tossed in healing focus but some of the other talents are nice too.

your build does look fine for what you want but again i must suggest healing way and maybe even purification they are very nice to have. take a look at this you might like it.

in the end do what you like best cause what i use to make my life easier may not be the same for you but i hope this helps.

I am just wondering......

You mention your thoughts on this as being "for groups" but in looking at your builds, you stop in each tree before you get to the biggest group enhancing talents in the tree. why is that?

I mean surely in elemental, the Totem of Wrath, with its 3% increase to chance to hit and crit with spells to party members will make your casters happy. The Unleashed Rage in Enhancement, with the 2% increase to attack power will make your melee, and hunters become your best friends, and Mana Tide in Resto... those high powered Locks and Mages, not to mention the Priests, getting 6% of total mana every 3 seconds will make said Shammi very popular indeed. Yet in none of your suggested builds do you even get down to those party enhanceing talents. Out of curiosity... why?

Granted, a +3% chance to hit is pretty worthless when talking about spells.. they rarely miss anyway, but the others.. what about them?

Sunsoar was looking for a build he can dps or heal with, so basicly all i am missing in enh tree is unleash rage cause i suggested to boot it and increase healing by 10%. I dont think you actually read my post or the post I was responding to, if you did you would notice i suggested the elemental build much more, mainly for unrelenting storm, imo having better mana regen is a much better buff then 10% ap, only cause a shaman trying to heal that has mana is much better then one that just ran out.

So I dont know as far as builds that are good for dps some times and healing sometimes i dont think i did so bad.

Didnt say you did, I was just wondering why you didnt go that far down. Personally I am working toward a elemental/resto build baically a 28/2/31. My goal being to get mana tide, but looking toward conserving mana and building a decent mana pool. Trust me I am new at this so I am interested in all ideas.

i see, i would have to say go ahead and put those 2 points in enh you are considering somewhere in ele or resto since 2 points in there prolly wont help much, up to you tho i know the elemental tree is tricky to fill sometimes, but i deff have to say dont bother with our elemental totem, seems nice but you are almost never in a group with all casters, and in raids you will probably be grouped with tanks or dps warriors and rogues. Mana tide is deff sick i love it when i am healing, makes me last longer and need to waste less pots.

hmmm so you advise the 2 pts in Ancestrial Knowledge be spent in one of the other 2 trees? I so wish I could find somewhere to grab 3 more pts for it but I ran out and actually it suffered due to wanting to get certain things in each tree. Granted, 2% increase in max mana isnt much... but I figured every little bit helped.

Well I am very new to Playing wow and I just started playing a shaman. I have played a lock till lvl 20 but didn't like it. I enjoy casting but I would also like to deal decent mele damage. Is this a decent build? http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?5002315003300000000050052301055013052110000000000000000000000

If you want to do melee damage I would put most of my talents into the Enhance tree.

Here is the build I use. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?0500000000000000000050052021050213153115105203300000000000000

edit: put wrong link.

Here's what I've been using to solo as resto to 70. Worked pretty well for me.

The enh points were to up my crit and use Shamanistic Focus to conserve mana. I crit fairly often so I get a real mana savings by using this and keeping Flame Shock running with an Earth Shock or 2 thrown in for good measure.

Dunno if its a stupid build or if its good - but its worked well for me.
