which race is for rogue best? i know the UD is "classic" rogue but horse is so ugly :(

Orc would make a good rogue, but it's very subjective. The 2 racial passives that would aid you are Blood Fury and Hardiness.
Blood Fury will boost your attack power for a short time, so you can deal slightly more damage with ambush or backstab.
Speaking about Hardiness, I got stunned a lot as an Orc Rogue, so I can't say much about it.

yea usally most ppl r UD rogue but i am a gnome and i dont see anything wrong about them ;)
for horde go troll cause they look cool and they r good too but for the alliance (if u dont want to be a common fool) go NE or human cause the NE have so mutch agilite witch is the biggest part of a rogue and humans make great sword rogues with there increase skill in swords and maces i guess u could be maces too but thats very un common
Pick the one you think looks the best. Look closely at the racial abilties and make your own choice based on these factors, starting stats dont have much bearing on you charcter and is only make a very small diferance.
Find out if any of your friends play, see if they are on the alliance or horde side and then make a decision based on that too. Do you want the help from your friends or would you prefer to fight against them?
Starting location, what would you prefer? If you have played before or have help this dose not matter as you can get to any of the other starting towns, but it is worth a bit of thought, and if you have only had charcters start in (for example) goldshire then It might pay to start there again because you know your way around and know where the quests are.
And night elves dont have that much of an advantage in the agility department. When it comes down to it at level 60 + all the same gear on a dwarf rogue, you would only have about 8 less agility... or somthing along those lines.
Oh, and you can get any of the diferant races mounts, you just need to have a good anough reputation with them.

I went Dwarf because its tons of fun to Vanish on a Warrior after you get the big Rend/Hamstring/Deepwounds combo and it makes fighting other Rogues a cake walk.

for alliance the best race is Gnome or NE there tied because gnome have escape artist which can help then get out of a frost nova while the NE have alot of agi wich will help them crit more.
for horde the best race is orc and undead orc becuase the can resist stun effects they have hardiness and they have bloodrage wich increases there DPS and damage while undead have will of forsaken wich could get them out of a succubus' charms and seduction adn a warlocks and a priests fear and the skill has a very low cooldown of 2 min

Personally I think Night Elves make great Rogues, not because they start with more agility. I would pick a Night Elf because of Shadowmeld. It works like Master of Deception. It makes you harder to detect than a Rogue who doesn't have Shadowmeld.

well for allience is best NE and for horde i would say troll cuz they got good start of stats

from wat i heard the NE shadowmeld bonus to master of des. will no longer happen in a patch coming up soon.
As for the alliance races heres what i think.
Gnomes -
small size (harder to target/see)
escape artist(removes immobilizing effects(if it works)
Humans -
+5 sword/maces (good for combat rogues)
Preception (good agaisnt other rogues)
Diplomacy (good for builing rep)
Dwarves -
Stone Form (makes you immune to poison/disease(sp?) and dispells blind)
Night Elves -
Increased Stealth (nuff said)
Increased Dodge (not great, but it helps)
Wisp Form (Good for getting to your body faster(PvE)
just pick which ever you think will help you more

For those wondering, starting stats don't make that much of a difference simply because they even out after a few levels.
Anyhoo, while looking for a new server on warcraftrealms.com, I noticed on the census that the majority of rogues out there are either undead or Nelfs. Personally speaking, I always appreciate rogues that are not of those two races simply because I don't see enough of them.(no pun intended) I can't recall ever encountering a dwarf or a troll rogue even, and percentage wise they're rather low. I'd like to ask the community here why that is. Are dwarves and trolls just not that cool on the rogue meter? If so, why?

looking back on it i wish i would have made a Human, because the whole ears sticking out of the helms thing looks stupid, plus preception is nice when aother rogue tries vanishing.

i chose night elf casue they are the tallest allaince i think. makes me look scarier. i would of chosen tauren if they could be rogues. it would be so awesome to ambush someone when ur like 8 feet.bow bow bow. and the weak people start crying * damn, where the hell did that thing come from*

GOG a tauren is nothing . i have a gnome warrior twink . was in pvp a good day than out of nowhere a giant troll rouge tries to backstab u. i scared the **** out of me.
