Great guide. Wish I had had known about it when I started my 'lock a week ago. looks like Ill be respecing =P

Heck, I didn't even realise until lvl 20 that there were 3 talent catagories!
Thats what happens when you rush into a game without talking to anyone for help =/

I'm finding alot of great info on this site. Best info I've found anywhere. Thanx to those who have posted all the helpful info here.

btw that talent point calculator is kinda neat to play with while the realms are down =)

Humans get
• Perception - Activate to increase stealth detection radius by 10 yards - lasts 20 sec – 3 min cooldown
• The Human Spirit - passive Increase Spirit by 5%
• Diplomacy - passive 10% bonus to faction point gain
• Sword Specialization - passive Humans get +5 to Sword skill
• Mace Specialization - passive Humans get +5 to Mace skill.

Detect stealth is marginally useful as you have to activate it. This means you have to know something is stealthed before hand. Also warlocks can train to use swords but most use staves for the stat bonuses. The sword skill bonus is nice but you will probably be shooting wands more than swinging your weapons. The spirit boost is ok for reducing downtime in PvE but warlocks get spells to enhance health and mana regen so we have little to no downtime as it is.

You forgot about Diplomacy, arguably at it's best when you cap 70. That additional 10% will get you into end-game faster when you start grinding rep.

Here's one:

Q: What level should I get my fel guard?
A: While you can get the fel guard at 50, it's advisable to wait until you reach 56 in order to get Demonic Frenzy, which helps to boost the fel guard's melee attacks. Also, keep in mind that with the fel guard, you will NEED Mana Feed to ensure he has enough mana for Intercept and Cleave, and you will NEED Demonic Resilience to ensure he can survive fights.

Human Spirit is +10% bonus, not 5%

Small thing, the link to the talent calculator is very out of date. It still has level 60 as being the cap.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for writing this guide it's been wery helpful.

I am new (3rd day playing and lvl13) so I might be asking stupid questions. There were some discussions at this thread about quest where you suppose to choose between infernal/felhunter path.

1. What is this quest and in what level?
2. I assume that the choice I do is permanent?
3. which one I should take? ups and downs?

Thank you very much for posting this guide. I am getting the game tomorrow and I plan on playing as a Warlock.

IMHO, a Demonology based Warlock is the easiest solo class, as you are never actually soloing. Warlock's are casters, not melee, so if you cast up somebody else to keep aggro and deal melee damage, it leaves you more opportunity to cast your DOT's on the mobs. I just hit L50, got my Felguard, and can easily solo mobs up to L57.

Thanks for the guide. :)

Just a small detail:
Quote:

You cannot summon someone across the instance barrier. Anyone you summon must be on the same side of the portal as you. So, you can summon people from inside the entrance to the instance into the depths if you choose. You just can’t summon them into the instance from outside. You need to step outside of the instance to summon new help from afar.

While you can't summon new help, you can summon current party members from outside the instance. I know this because I got horribly lost while dead and trying to find my way into Mara to get my corpse, couldn't do it, so I went back to the spirit, rez'd there, and was summoned back into the instance by a lock. :)

Yea they removed this little hinderance to the warlock summoning a few patches ago. I'll fix the FAQ.

I use Necrosis - WoWmatrix still updates it... Shard tracker isn't needed, since the number of shards displays on the shard bag with the default UI.
