i've bein trying to find information about 1 handed melee weapons for a druid, i want to use off hand items.
in the description for the class, it says you can use axes with training. but i can;t find anyone that can train me on that.
any info would be great.

As far as I've seen, Druids cannot learn axes, but instead can learn maces, both one-hand and two-hand. I could be wrong, of course, but I have yet to find a trainer in any city that can train a druid on axe. Might be a typo.

You can train in 1 hd and 2 hd and hand to hand, your normal class trainer does not train you here. You have to go to a weapons trainer, I found mine in the ironforge.

Raniken,

The weapons trainer I found in Iron Forge only offered to train me in Fist Weapons, 1 hand MACE, and 2 hand MACE. Have you found a trainer that will train in axes? Where is this trainer located? What shop in IF?

Is it perhaps a level based ability? At what level were you able to train it?

Thanks for your help

i did some extra research for the las t couple of days on other forums and still no look.
i;ve come to teh conclusion that axe got replaced for maces. the official website states the same weapon list than here with the exeption that instead of axes there are maces.
so far i've found that you can train hand to hand daggers maces and polearms at level 40 i beleive.
i decided to settle down for daggers so i could use off hand items. also everytime you cast something the timer for your weapon attack gets reset so with a long delay weapon you can be a lot of seconds with out hitting. i've seen my new dagger delay 1.4 hit monsters in between spells.
i hope my lil research helps out.

Do we get dual wield? You keep mentioning off hand. How scary would it be to see a Tauren Druid with an axe? Pretty damn imo. If we can't use axes tho, dual wielding would be cool too.

I've pretty much stayed druid throughout beta and retail, dabbling here and there with other classes. I could always be wrong, and if you KNOW I am, please correct me and list intellegence.

Druids can train in Hand to Hand, 1h Mace, 2h Mace, Staves and Daggers. Druids can only use Leather and Cloth as armor. And, Druid CANNOT use a shield or duel-wield. There are, however, off-hand items that the druid can use.

As you may know, Druids are a mana dependant class, and there are no spells that I've learned that replenish mana. There is one quest item for Druids that you can hold in your off-hand that will restore mana upon use. The item is available to young druids, so using your offhand will be realistic - just don't hope to use a shield. :)

The only spells i ever cast are instant when in melee combat (unless i really need a heal), and i always time them for after a staff attack. (i use staves). Big reason tho, is I haven't found any combo of 1hand + offhand weapon that can provide the same stats that i can get from a staff. My current staff (Acrobatic Staff of Intellegence) gives +14 int and has 23.0dps at lvl 29. Its a great staff and I haven't found any combos using a offhand that would give me nearly that much benefit, nor have i found any that had such amazing abilities that i wanted to switch (250 mana every 30 minutes isnt a big enough help to me anymore with my 2100 point mana pool. I just chug a potion).

No, no axes.

I dunno, not much has been written on Druid yet, or any class for that matter. As soon as some hard evidence starts pouring in, cookie cutter forms will be prescribed. Until then, we will all be running around trying every weapon to figure out what the best cookie cutter is.

So for those who aren't sure what weapon to use but want the best, don't try to stray too far from Mace or Staves. They work well for our class, and define us in this world of...warcraft. Where the hell are we anyways? It's not Vandaiel...so where?

The only hard evidence I can provide is for those who follow the Balance tree. I suggest highly that those Druids out there who have followed the Balance tree take up their Mace or some other fast weapon once in awhile to compliment their staff. The Mace hits more often than a Staff will, meaning that there will be more chances for a Clearcasting State to happen, meaning less mana used, meaning more efficient.

Well, was Druid in Beta and stayed the course thru Retail, atm, am 45. The news of Druids being able to train in Polearm was new to me I must say, right now Im combing SW Dwarven area looking for this trainer....have yet to find him. Anyone able to post a little more info on the locale of this guy by chance? Would be extremely helpful, thx.

*gotta take the tram to stormwind, the trainer in the dorf area will train you polearms, 1hs and 2hs.*

This guy, dont exist. There is no dwarf in SW that trains Polearm for Druids, only Weapontrainer is a human.

#15REDACTED, Posted: Apr 03 2008 at 10:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) daggers 1 hand mace 2 hand mace z staff and you can carry "an offhand item". off hands ARE NOT WEAPONS they are like shields with no blocking skill no armor and no block value. those are the only skills i've ever seen on a druid. what would a druid be doing with an axe any ways? totaly nature class and now your wanting them to carry tree's worst enemy?? might as well be DWing chain saws while diveing an eng car that all you see is a bog of smoke around while throwing moonjuice cups out the window. : )

Wow, no wonder. I was reading through this just kinda thinking "Man, why is everyone being so thick?" But if WoW had basically just come out when the topic was started, that explains a lot.
