Is it true that this class just casts a bunch of polymorphs and thats it? If so i definitley will go Rogue or Shaman.

nah, its exagerated, while we DO use polymorph to help with crowd control, we can only polymorph 1 target, soo once we done, its nuking time.

Check the skills lists and see :)

I have only been defeated by a paladin in a serious duel. Oh and I never had the pleasure of being challenged with a shaman :P . However, rogues can be rough with that stun of theirs :) Thank goodness for frost nova.

So yeah, a ton of people are frustrated with the fact that they might have to think once in a while when playing the mage class. So, they pick some other class, then they duel a mage, and get turned into a sheep, come onto the forums and complain about how stupid polymorph is. So, naturally, the majority of the conversations you hear about mages involve the word "polymorph" or "sheep." Despite what the context of the conversation is, after a while, you just start seeing those words associated with the mage class.

Don't for a second believe that Mages are limited to a sheep spell :)

Oh and one last thing, don't go shaman unless you would really enjoy that type of class. Your reason shouldn't be because everyone on the forums talks about how awesome they are.
#4REDACTED, Posted: Nov 25 2004 at 4:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You may polymorph as many targets as you have mana. For example, a friend of mine pulled some bandits, three to be exact. I kept two of the 3 morphed as he killed the third. Then we proceeded to kill the other two. A word of warning though, polymorph does generate quit a bit of aggro so when the monster reverts to its normal state it will be a tad irked at you.

How did you keep 2 morfed while the abbility states only one target may be palymorphed at a time

I had the same situation earlier this week. My tank pulled 3 mobs - 2 casters and a warrior. Of course, he tanked the warrior first, and left me to deal with the 2 casters, but I "sheep'd" them alternately while he and the cleric mowed down target 1.

So while yes, you can only morph 1 at a time, you can ping-pong your morphing to control 2 adds while your party beats down a third target, by chain-casting Polymorph on the 2 adds - as soon as one poofs, you go back and re-sheep the other one.

Of course this effectively removes you from any nuking on the current kill target, but with a cleric present, this isn't a problem for the tank.

Just go ahead and roll your shammy or rogue anyway. The tone of your comment seems to suggest you've made up your mind.

Yes, it's true. Ever since level 8 all I've done is wander around Elwynn Forest sheeping wolves, Defias, kobolds and, of course, sheep. It is so boring, I cannot even tell you. I wouldn't bother with that character at all except I'm making a fortune auctioning peacebloom.

In Starcraft: Brood War, you can click a bajillion times on the Ursadon critters on the tundra maps and they would explode in a similar fashion.

We do use our CC the most in end game. And we must keep a constant vigil on our sheeped target because if it breaks and your not their to sheep it, it spells trouble for the raid. Sheeping is also used on certain boss fights, too.

The thing that sucks is that they have a good chance of breaking early so you must keep on constant vigil on it. So while other dps classes are dpsing the selected target without worries, you will also have to worry about your sheep.
