I don't think you quite understand how the stats work. Go to worldofwarcraft.com and click on the Basics section. You'll easily find a full description of the stats.

Intelligence increases mana pool, Spirit increases rate at which said pool is regenerated.

If you want to improve the actual power of your healing spells then consider investing some talent points in the holy talent tree for abilites such as: Improved Holy Light, Divine Favor and Improved Seal of Light. Intelligence and Spirit will only help you in the way the above poster described.

Fixed for clarity. Spirit don't mean jack for a Paladin that is continually casting. Also +healing items for increasing the potency of your healing spells.

Paladins want +heal, spell crit and mp5. Int will come with that gear.

Spirit does jack squat for us.

bah it's str for our mana pool and our healing power is based on our armor. hence why we wear plate and no other healer does.

god stop messing with the kid and tell him the truth.

um. ACTUALLY, intelligence affects healing in a manner that seems to be amiss...If you want to talk about "intellect", that's one thing. Intelligence? Well, my good man, intelligence affects the way you use what god gave you. Intellect = mana pool but ALSO, if you have the holy talent "Holy Guidance", then your healing increases by 35% of your intellect

--sort-of. If you're beyond the 5 second window of casting, then the spirit-affected mana regen rate is applicable. Otherwise, if you're within 5 seconds of your last cast, your mana regen is affected explicitly by mana-per-5-seconds gear.

Yes, as others have mentioned, you want +heal, spellcrit, and mp5. The spellcrit is most helpful if you've taken the holy talent "Illumination," which returns mana = to 60% of the base cost of the spellcast.

One last note. If you're lazy and don't feel like gearing up, just find a warlock with fel armor and an alchemist's stone trinket and have him tank for you :P
Orgasmic ego-stroking for any healer.

ah yep you're right. misread the usage of Alchemist's Stone to be straightup healing but also mana potions. In any case, I was being utterly sarcastic.
