Heroes of the Storm :: Free Realms

It's always Free to Play, though if you want heroes not on the weekly rotation, you need to buy them with in game currency or meatspace money.

I've been having fun with it. Add #1616 to my username if you want to team up for a few games sometime.

Oh. I could have sworn that when it first showed up on my Battlenet loader/app/screen/thingy awhile that it prompted me to pay for the download/install.

During Beta, you could buy a pack that came with a bunch of characters and whatnot. It also came with a Beta invite, which was the only way to get one unless you got a free beta key from Blizz or a friend. My roommate bought me that pack for my birthday/Christmas.
