Looks like Gamestop preorders won't be honored at that price. At least not from Deep Silver's pocket (some Twitter account for some Deep Silver PR/Marketing guy).
I guess Gamestop could still sell it for a loss to all their customers, but I doubt that will happen.
They'll just cancel all the preorders and not charge anyone, and not give out keys.

Yeah, since no money changed hands, it's trivial for them to just say "Oops, no charge no foul" and cancel the orders. If this had been a brief error, I could see it going through but now it's been on Reddit, on Slickdeals and all the other places so I'm sure that there's a billion-thousand $5 orders placed.
Someone will actually have to show up at Gamestop Online HQ and do so though. Is there no one working this weekend except the janitor?

They're probably trying to filter out all the $5 keys before the automated system kicks in.

From the sound of it, GS ran out of keys and is trying to get more from Deep Silver. Who had said they weren't honoring the sale so... who knows?
