Bioshock InfiniteFollow

I don't TRY to call plot twists. It just happens. I'm thinking about what's happening and what's going on, and my brain just automatically fills in the blanks. It's relatively rare for me to be surprised by rational twists in media. Which makes me appreciate the ones that DO surprise me so much more.

I didn't realize the twist in The Sixth Sense, and I loved it as a result. I DID realize the twist in The Prestige pretty much right away, and it made the whole movie way less interesting because of it.

It's not like I sit there and try and figure out how the story will end, in general.

That makes sense, I'm sure it's just how different people's minds work. When I'm watching a movie/playing a game I am 100% in the moment and never give a thought to what's going to happen later.

Granted, some movies/games make the 'twist' so obvious that even I can see where its going and holy crap is that a let down.

I'll expand a little on the hype comment and say that I found the game entertaining, well 'acted', pretty to look at and with a new fun new mechanics. Elizabeth's character was wonderful as both a character and as an NPC AI -- an escort mission where you like the person instead of hate having their dumb incompetent fragile *** shackled to you!

However everyone was wrapped up about the plot which, if it worked for you seems to have worked great and if it didn't work makes you say "pppfffttt... whatever!". I thought it was a solid, enjoyable game either way (though I liked the story and didn't foresee the ending) and it's too bad that expectations for a transcendent emotional experience overwhelmed the game's other positive points.

But not all things for all people. I was disappointed/underwhelmed with Half Life 2 and Mass Effect, a couple games that bring a select group of fans to ****** with just a mention. Lots of other games out there to play rather than dwelling on what didn't work for you.

I probably shouldn't have clicked that spoiler. I realized immediately upon clicking that I probably shouldn't be following this thread in the first place. XD

Mass Effect is terrible, I wouldn't qualify it or the series as considered a masterwork of gaming. Obviously popular, but so are Call of Duty and Halo. Not liking HL2....is pretty strange. Not because I liked it and you didn't, but because it's fairly widely regarded as one of the best video games ever. You liked Portal, right? I mean...no one doesn't like Portal....right? Right??

Not liking Half Life 2 says more about you that it does about the game.

It says vicious, uncomplimentary things, like a popular girl in a highschool film.

Oh, I did play the Portal Flash game.

I've also never played any of the System Shock or Bioshock games, or any of the Fallout series.
