They're all over the place, but only at night (I think). I know I see them in graveyard-esque areas. Not sure where else.

Considering she can't die unless I accidentally hit her she's awesome. I gave her Ebony armor and a Ebony great-axe, and she can hold her own until I'm hidden again. Then I sneak out and Backstab the highest level enemy with a paralysis coated Ebony dagger.

I'm not able to one-shot people with a bow, so I'll stick to dual-wielding daggers. Still, Sneak at 100 with Shrouded Hood and Boots and I still can't hide from a dragon.

I often find Lydia likes to run in front of my weapon after I've started swinging it, which gets seriously annoying.

Speaking of Luna Moths, I found one in a jar (I also have a Torchbug). The damn thing will not stay on the shelf I put it on. It's a pain in the *** to get it set up sitting properly, then when I leave and come back, it's sitting in the middle of the damn floor. There apparently are jars with a bee, a butterfly, and a dragonfly as well that I haven't gotten yet, but since I can't manage to get them to stay where I want them, I never bothered to go find them.

I found the butterfly one and had a hard time getting it to stay. But I eventually succeeded.

The primary reason why I didn't use companions. Secondary reason was their lack of anything resembling sneak mode.
Me: "Ok, Lydia, let's sneak past these guys so we can kill them from the other side."
Lydia: "Ok."

Lydia: "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?! I'M SWORN TO CARRY YOUR BURDENS!"

After a dozen reloads because of scenarios like that, I decided to park Lydia's pretty little *** in Whiterun and just go shoot stuff from the darkest corner of the room.
Please "talk up" if your comprehension white-shifts. I will use simple-happy language-words to help you understand.
Lydia made a great sacrifice for that one quest about ... sacrificing ... a friend ... thing.
Didn't even use the dagger. Just an arrow to the face.

The first time I tried to give something to Lydia, I actually said "Well f*** you too, *****" out loud. Which made my roommate give me a funny look from the kitchen...

Do you get a shelf when you buy a house?
I didn't know that you could use companions to carry stuff for you. Maybe I'll have to rethink my decision about dungeon-crawling without them. Lydia does seem to lack situational awareness - or maybe she's just blind. My horse, too, is always drawing in wild animals and then getting in between my sword and the beast.

Yeah, but you have to manually move items onto them (how to do so depends on your platform). And there's a bug with the phsyics engine that means anything not completely at rest will go flying when you zone in, so it takes time to set things up the way you want them.
You will, however, get bookcases that act as storage chests (with a cap on the number of books per shelf), so you just put them in the order you want them, and it'll automatically fill the shelf.

Yeah, I unlocked a gate in a Dwemer ruin in order to get the loot on the table behind it. As soon as the doors opened all the items launched themselves at me, I thought I had activated some kind of Catapult trap.

So, the latest patch broke going underwater for the PS3. Freezes every single time.
That's something you'd think they'd have caught before releasing it. Hmph.

Awesome. I'm at my parents' house for the weekend, so I can't test it on my end. I'm seeing reports that random freezing issues remain, though at least it seems true that the frame-rate issue is fixed. Maybe deleting your patches and reupdating will help?

I'll give it a try later today. I've read mixed reports on that; some people said it fixed things, others say the problem remains. Fingers crossed.
I don't know why the PS3 has so many issues with Skyrim. I've had absolutely none on the PC.
