...looks pretty.
I've never heard of these games, but they look like the the spiritual successor to the Sim City series. Now, the last one of those that I played was Sim City 2000, so I'm fairly impressed with how the genre has apparently grown since then (at least, graphics-wise).
This one seems pretty cool, though I doubt my old laptop will be able to chug through it. Anyone familiar with the previous iterations of this game?

Is this the one that was supposed to be "Sim City MMOG"?

Yeah, one of the previous versions was an MMOG. I couldn't learn much in my 15 second (literally) search here at work.
There wasn't a wiki article for the new one, so I don't know if this one's supposed to have a similar social aspect to it, or what it'd entail. I feel like I'd prefer it to be a solo game, with the ability to download maps/cities/mods that others create. Something like what Civ V does. I dunno.
As a dude who does dabbles in rendering, those cities just look pretty darn cool to me. Oh man, it'd be great if you could import them into 3D software...

I hate it when companies refuse to include the UI in their screenshots.
I'd like to see what the game looks like while you play it. Screenshots like these might be all pretty pretty, if a game has a bleh UI, I'd probably not buy it, which is why I look for UI footage of some-sort.

That and Sim City had a lot of popularity way back when, I bet people probably just automatically went to it.
I'll admit; I liked Sim City up until that bungled 4k edition. That's when I gave up on Sim City altogether. I'll still putz around with 3k now and then, but meh.
Might try Cities XL sometime though. That is.. if.. I could ever get a few good screenies of the UI and get an idea of how the game is played, etc.
