So I got an Email today from Ankama (because I used the email to sign up for Dofus). Apparently a game just came out on Xbox Live Arcade. Islands of Wakfu.

Unfortunately they didn't keep the strategy RPG styled gameplay of Dofus, and it's just an action type. Similar art style and all. I haven't turned on my Xbox yet to see if there is a free trial of the game or not. Usually there is.

The game seems very... poor. Based on the trial. I can't see any reason to pay for it... unless you played Dofus a lot and really wanted those special items.

I saw Wakfu beta keys on Zam the other day and grabbed one.
If you liked Dofus, you'll probably like Wakfu. It's like Dofus 3.0 (wouldn't be 2.0, since that was taken).
A better skill system, better crafting/harvesting system, seems to be an easier drop system. Low level sets don't require groups of 4-6 people to get or really high prospecting. I got the Piwi sets complete just soloing.
