Here is an awesome little turret based FPS for you to play. It's called Heavy Gunner and it's available on the Market for $5, I purchased it yesterday and I'm enjoying it. The provided link has a YouTube gameplay video.

Please to be playing now!

It appears to be on the iPhone App Store, as well, for $2.99.

Yeah, it was originally an iPhone game and the Devs made a Droid version.

So why doesn't the thread title include iPhone owners? Smiley: frown

So, aside from paid apps, what are some must have free apps for the android? I just got my hands on a Samsung Captivate, and I'm really happy with it. Other than being notified twice for new emails, I don't have many problems with it. It's nowhere near as glitchy as my iPhone became.

I am, however, looking for a keyboard that emulates the iPhone keyboard, not necessarily in style, but in function. I despise the autocorrect and predictive text that the default keyboard has, and I miss my iPhone keyboard.

I got an app killer, and set some bookmarks. I'd like new twitter app, as the one directly from twitter keeps popping into my running apps list, and I'm tired of seeing it there when I haven't used the damn thing all day, and I have the auto update set to 4 hours (which is the longest interval, and there is no "do not auto update" which I would prefer)

So, tell me how to make my new android more fabulous than it is.

Put rainbows on it, ship it to CA, stick it in an ****, and root your phone; it's the only way to get the good apps.

I picked up another game by Com2Us called Caligo Chaser, it's an RPG but the battle system is like the Mana series mixed with Double Dragon. It's for both Droid and iPhone and I recommend checking out at least the free demo.

Edit: Btw Nix, I'm still waiting for your comeback to my last comment.

I'm pretty sure a Twitter app can be easily found on the marketplace, though I don't have one myself. As for other decent apps, I'll just list some of what I have on mine (note: these are on the Droid, and all are free):

Astrid Task Manager (it's a good productivity app w/ to-do lists and such)
Bank of America Mobile Banking (very, very useful)
Aldiko (a reader for public domain books, mostly classics)
Bump (that app that lets you do a "bump" motion to transfer files to another smartphone)
DroidLight (just a flashlight that uses the camera "flash", and is actually very bright)
Dropbox (awesome filesharing/transfer app that makes it easy to link computers and mobiles)
Google Earth
GameBoid (Gameboy Advance Emulator)
Google Goggles (really neat app that I have not found a practical use for yet)
Gstrings (guitar tuner)
IMDb (just an app that lets you search IMDb quicker, I use it all the time)
Kayak (flights, hotels, etc.)
Kindle
Music Wizard (free musics!)
Google News & Weather
NFL Mobile
Paper Toss (addictive time-waster game)
RealCalc (scientific calculator)
Robo Defense Free (tower defense game)
Shazam (listens to music and tells you what the song is, very handy)
Skype
SportsTap (quick scores)
Tetronimo (Tetris)
Red Poker Club (Texas Hold'em)
Google Translate
TV.com
Voice Recorder
