Fix'd, lest you be mistaken for a freebirth maggot.

Major bropoints for being a Falconer anyway.

And no, it can't mount jump jets because of it's leg type as much as I can remember, same reason as the Mad Dog (Vulture to said freebirth maggots). This is why I like MekTek's take on the slot system of MW4.

In the games, perhaps. In the novels, Aidan Pryde's Timber Wolf had jump jets. If I remember the setup correctly, he sacrificed the medium pulse laser and machine guns to do so. Pretty sure they were mounted in the torso instead of the legs.

Artistic license can suck it. I think it was more that the chicken legs aren't (as) effective for DFA as the Summoner so reigns at in comparison.

And you know what... pogo snipers can suck it too.

Gawd yes I would love a Battletech MMO. that would be the sauce. the sauce of awesome.

Timber wolves were always iconic for the series, but I was more a Mad Dog person myself. Much more tactical. Set up a variant with a tactical suite and have a bunch of long range support for ambush.

I was thinking it could be kind of a dual mode game, When in town everyone is out of vehicle and it would be like a multilevel town in most MMO's, shops, AH, craft guilds, etc....
But outside of town you were in combat mode based on class, if you were a mechpilot you were always in mech, a vehicle guy or pilot always in the cockp[it, infantry and elementals running about at the feet of the mechs.

Balance might be a problem, lol

Well you could earn the ability to pilot better Mechs as you leveled up. Their could be PvE raids to assault enemy forces and salvage their tech and weapons. And of course lots of PvP zones.

Sounds fun to me.

You could have the Solaris 7 Arenas where you could watch player matches and places bets on outcomes.

The Clans have a perfect Respawn excuse, with the whole Genetic continuation and all.

You could make Mechwarrior like a prestige class, something to be unlocked after the proper "training" like lvl 10 or 15ish.

It could have a robust skill point system for leveling so you could specialize in maybe gunnery or piloting, or you could be the infantry and specialize in explosives and stealth.

If they ever did make this game I'd love to see a Vehicle modification system. I used to design mechs a lot. I'd always run my designs against my friends, even got to play in a "build your own" tourney, I melted my enemies to Slag with my 20Sm Laser equipped, jumping, Custom Aurora AUR-X9. It was like a super close range jump sniper. 20 smalls+TSM=Hammer made things fall down hard. I always wanted to play that mech in a video game.
