I Have To Pick One of Three - HALP!Follow

Right now I have money for a new game, sadly only one.

I have narrowed my choices down to:

1. Final Fantasy 13

2. Dragon Age: Origins

3. God of War 3

I have played most of the FF series. Haven't played any of the other GoW games. I have read up extensively on each game, including the posts in this forum, but I can't decide. Smiley: frown

Any of you played them all and can add input?

I have FFXIII, and have played the previous God of War games.

I'd probably go with Dragon Age: Origins if I had to pick one, it seems to be a hit according to everyone I know who's played it.

Second choice would be FFXIII, which is a pretty average game in terms of plot. The combat system is fun, but I hate that only about 20% of the game lets you explore.

If you're into button mashing, God of War would be fun.

Of that list I would easily go with GoW3. But i've played the first 2.

So, in your case, DA.

eta: alternatively you could get the GoW collection for ps3 and get to play 2 games for cheap. They even look great graphically, and push the envelope even by today's standards.

When you say Dragon Age: Origins... you are talking about Dragon Age: Origins... right? And not the new Dragon Age: [Origins] Awakenings expansion that just came out this week.
Make sure you get DA:O first and either get DA: Awakenings now or wait.

I would probably go with DA:O too.... for now. Plus, it is made by Bioware... (Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars:KOTOR... etc...)

I wouldn't rush out and buy GoW3 til you at least try out the first two GoWs in order (and maybe the PSP GoW game also)... because I can guarantee you that GoW3 will be a "Greatest Hits" (or whatever they call them now) game. Although I don't see where you would have a problem just starting GoW3 and not messing with the other 2.5 games.

Final Fantasy XIII seems like a good game so far (only about 5 hours into it), but as with any FF game... it will be around forever and the only thing you have to worry about with it will be people spoiling the game for you.

#2 if it's for the computer, otherwise #1 is the correct answer.

One thing to consider is GoW is around 10 hours while the other 2 are over 60 hours of gameplay... Dragon Age even more since you will probably end up playing it 2-3 times. I'm playing FFXIII right now and I love it but at the same time I can't wait to finish it so I can go back to Dragon age and try the expansion.

This is the correct answer.

If you're button mashing, you're doing it wrong. Either that or you're afraid of playing on anything over normal difficulty. On the harder settings it's all about never staying in once place and timing your attacks so you can out of range of the enemies.

I'd personally go FFXIII if I had to choose, pick up a cheap copy of GoW1 or GoW2 to see if you like them first, and if you just can't get enough XXXΔ grab GoW3. I like RPGs and I thought DA:O was boring as hell, so I can't recommend that at all.

Story? Final Fantasy XIII

Timesink? Dragon Age.

Neither? God of War

Personally, between Dragon Age and FFXIII, I like FFXIII more. It's a bit more captivating, Dragon Age's second playthrough is kind of boring. I do admit, knowing it's a videogame, I can't bring myself to kill the Elven villagers for the Werewolf trophy. I'm such a wuss.

On the Dragon Age note, get a copy according to your PSN account, saves you lots of customer support troubles if you actually want to download DLC.
