I finally got it to go past the DNAS thing but now it's been stuck at about 80% updating for like 5 minutes, dunno if this is normal or if it's messed up again. Oh lawd.
(Apparently it is normal, after about 10 minutes it finally moved and finished updating haha. It's restarting right now, I think it's finally going to work!)

Yes it takes quite some time to download updates...for some reason even longer then a ps3 game takes when all this update fits on 8 mb memory card...I guess that's the advancements in console generations.
Glad to hear you got it working, if you need any other help or help in game let me know, I did get my own ps3 back working now from a YLOD so I wont be on as much but I still have a months subscription for now.

Thanks haha. I was all excited then I ran into yet another problem, it didn't accept my credit card for whatever reason and I had enough room on it for a months subscription but it was decently close to not being enough so when I pay on it on payday it should be fine. Just sucks I have to wait once again but meh this ones an easy fix :P. Thanks a lot for all of the help, I would've been clueless without it.
Were you activating it in game or on the station website? When I tried to do it in game my card was declined, so I went to the sony website and logged into my account and subscribed there successfully. The problem was with an advanced authentication thing done by the banks card that couldn't work in game, why it was doing it for this when it worked fine without on sites like amazon and the PS3 store is beyond me.

I'm all set up and finally in-game. I started a gnome alchemist named Zamoki but I haven't done anything with him yet so you will likely find me on Orakis, level 5 monk. Excited to see you guys in game :).
