So... Let me lay down some facts about myself. Upon hearing this game was being released on March 9th, I was of course stoked. I went out and reserved a copy for the 360 version & the Limited Edition Strat. I was pleased. But then I heard how beautiful it was so I decided to spend sum cash on an HDTV to really appreciate it. THEN I thought hell, if I'm gonna do that I might as well buy a PS3 too. I'm out of town in Houston (going home to LA tomorrow) and was going straight from the airport to gamestop to my house. TV is being delivered tomorrow, all is gonna be good. ONE PROBLEM...

LA is SOLD OUT of PS3s!!! :'( My brother went to like 10 stores and couldn't find one. Perfect Day = Ruined. So do u guys think I should just suck it up and buy it for 360 (which I already own) or just stick to my guns until I can find a PS3? My only other option right now is to look around Houston for one because I highly doubt I'll find one in LA :(

IMO, wait til you can get a PS3 as an incentive to get said PS3. Best purchase we've ever made.

Yeah I'd wait and try and find a PS3 as quickly as you can. If you can't find one in a store, you could always buy one online. Considering that the game is not in HD for the 360, it seems like a waste of money for you to buy the game for the 360 when you already shelled out money for the HD TV just for the game.

I think the better question is, why are you not sharing the wealth with me?

Why didn't you buy one in Houston and bring it back with you?

Could always pay the gouged price for a ps3 on ebay? I had a hard time finding a ps3 apparently they are now "Rare" for some reason and have been for the past few weeks or more. I found a Sony Refurbished one from Game stop for $229. Its only a 40 but I don't do much downloading so its fine. Being a refurb from Sony has a 1 year warranty.

Check places like Walmart, K-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, and the like?

The local Walmart has a bunch of them in their display case. The local Gamestop also has a bunch of them. Basically, the West coast either really loves them some PS3, or they just don't sell well enough for any retailer to bother to stock them.

I had a similar problem, picked up my PS3 about 2 weeks ago. I had to settle for a refurbished model, which is fine (saved me $80, so the cost of FFXIII). I couldn't find any of the slim models within a 50 mile radius at any stores.

Surprisingly (because I would've never thought to look there), my mother knew I was shopping around for one and called me at a "Blockbuster Video" store, which had a single PS3 Slim in stock. Surprised the hell out of me, and although I had already gotten my refurbished PS3, maybe the info will help in locating them. I wouldn't had thought a Blockbuster would have consoles, but apparently they do sell video game consoles in their stores.

This. I woke up yesterday morning frantically calling every store in Houston and found one about 15 miles in the opposite direction of the airport lol. So yea just to let u all know I did succeed. Thanks for telling me to stick to my guns!

Only issue now is my dumb *** brothers missed my tv shipment so I didn't get to play yesterday. My older brother (the reliable one lol) came over to wait for it today on his day off, so when I get home from work... Seclusion time lol. I hope its gorgeous!!!

It may not be "HD" on the 360, but it still looks great on my 47" HDTV.

To tell you the truth... I actually have both versions of the game. I bought the PS3 version mainly for the token "HD" thing, plus the FFXIV code... and I bought the 360 version because I like the achievement sound on the 360 (go figure).

Both versions look good on my TV and I can't really see that much of a difference without REALLY looking.

I am not really playing the game because it looks nice... I have different reasons. I would even play FFXV if it was released on the Commodore 64 Home Computer system, or even on the Atari 2600.
