...that I don't love? This might be my favorite series after Final Fantasy. Well, it might even be close to Final Fantasy. Well, maybe.

Have you played the MMO yet? (Is it even out, I don't know...)

I can't get into the really old games, it's like a little room to room dungeon game...

Not really. I should. I just haven't yet.

The game style I was looking for was First Person RPG, like the old Wizardry games.

The only Shin Megami Tensei game I've played is Devil Survivors for the DS. It's fun, but I haven't played much.

God, yes I think except we both like Cowboy Bebop, Ouran High School Host Club and Final Fantasy. You don't appreciate Shōjo anime and manga like I do and you have no sense of humor.

I bet we each hate/love opposites sides of each of those series.

I don't appreciate shoujo? I may have an underdevloped list of shoujo titles, but I don't believe I show a significant rating bias towards them. Princess Tutu got a 9, Utena got an 8, Escaflowne (hybrid shounen-shoujo) got an 8, Nodame Cantabile got a 7, Kimi ga Nozumo Eien got a 7. Below that I gave Saikano a 6, Nodame (Paris) a 6, CCS a 5 (though that one is somewhat tricky), Fruits Basket a 5, and I believe that is it. That isn't terribly negative. My MAL average is 6.5, and that average is 6.78. My shounen rating may be even lower.

CCS deserves at least a 7. It's an 8.5 imo.

I acknowledge CCS as somewhat of an icon for mahou shoujo (along with Sailor Moon), but I feel the show itself was somewhat lacking. I liked the idea of CCS much more than I liked the show.

I consider Evangelion my favorite anime series, but I rated it only as a 7 on my list. I've rewatched it several times, and I could easily rewatch it again. Evangelion too is somewhat of an icon for the genre. Still a 7. As a purely television series, it was lacking.

I wanted to like Persona 3. I really did. But it was just boring to me. I thought the art was great, and I liked the soundtrack... But it just kinda fell blah to me elsewhere. The relationships I cared about were the ones you rarely got to investigate.

I found the story interesting, but advancing it felt like a chore, not natural. And trying to balance leveling with relationships with illness with studies with stats was just annoying.

I should probably note, though, that I was trying to do a single play through for all relationships...

This. I just found it so repetitive. I've been hoping that it picks up later in the game, but I'm really not far in. It's just the same old thing.

Go to school -> Do activities to build relationships -> Go to Tartarus -> Lather, Rinse, Repeat, changing the frequency of things based on how tired the party is.

Does it actually, well, get good later on? As in it doesn't feel like a chore to play?
