Hey everyone. It seems as of late I've gotten bored with Aion. The endless feeling grind followed with very little story and character development has become too much to bare. Perhaps one day it will change, but for now I cannot justify the 15 dollar a month fee any longer. However, I do not wish to lose my character or the wealth it has either.

I might come back to Aion some time, when my finances and time allows it, but I want to know, is there a way to put my account on hold? If I just cancel the subscription and stop playing, can I always reactivate it? I know with FFXI you can always De-Activate your account, and then Re-activate it at any time you wish. Is this possible with Aion?

As I say, my time has come for now, but I would like the option to come back if I ever so desire. I have a level 40 Cleric and a good bit of Kinah I saved up, so I don't want to lose that progress.

Anyhow, thanks for any help.

40's seems to be the burnout point for many players. I know I quit at 38 ranger.

To that I say, stop, go back and level some other classes for a bit, content is good in the lower levels and a lot is worth reading more than once. I equate it to FFXI back before RoZ game out. It seemed very scarce to even get to 50 then and rushing the content can feel much the same.

I will say however, that activating/activating your account is seamless, and yes, your characters do remain ( rather mine did after about a 4 week break.) And everything was still intact by then.

However, I'd urge you to go back, work on a craft, do some of the quests you're avoiding because they're gathering/require a group/etc. Just to vary your experience in the game a bit more. You might not be expriencing all the game has to offer if you're thinking there's a lack of content. A lot of things inside have to do with group play, but it doesn't really seem that way until you do so.

I do have to agree that Aion needs to flush out a set storyline a bit more. Playing Elyos, the storyline I did was great, but really needs to continue on.

Honestly, from what it looks like, it seems as if they just weren't ready to raise the level cap to 50 as they did. I hope they put a stronger emphasis on story in the future.

To answer your question, directly, most MMO companies do NOT delete your character even when you change your subscription to "no billing" because they know that you might return some day and become a customer again. It costs them little to nothing to keep the data, so most do.

Now does this mean that NCSoft will not delete your toon? I honestly cannot say as I have too little experience with this company, but I doubt they will delete it.

To date, this is the second NCSoft game I have played (Guild Wars being the first). I came back to Guild Wars after an 18 month leave of absence and all of my toons and property were still there. Hopefully that is the same here.

Now remember that Guild Wars is a 'No Fee' to play game, so that might be a MAJOR difference.
