If only because it is a Zelda game, I will play it. But looking at the article it does look pretty good, I think.

I didn't make it very far in that game. Is it really the same dungeon the whole time?

Not quite, you do have the standard scattered boss dungeon setup, but the only way to get the maps that allow access to them is to run through the resetting Ocean Temple again and again after each boss. That means you have to fight through same monsters, do the same puzzles over and over again. Then you have to run through it one more time for the first half of the final boss battle. Smiley: glare

I do admit I loved the use of the dual screens for the hermit crab boss and the second half of the final battle on the Ghost Ship.

Oh ******* hell. They can't do that. You can't make one zelda setting with three stories! There are to be only two stories per setting. One is too few and three too many! Four is right out!

Me.

Zelda was the 1st video game I owned, back on the NES.
I was so young at the time I couldn't even play it because I didn't know wtf was going on.
But I did sit there and watch my Father play it for hours.
Zelda games are a fav. Even if they all do play the same :p

Looks like this will be worse then Phantom Hourglass to me but I don't know. I got a good ways into Phantom Hourglass but I couldn't take that same stupid dungeon over and over again. That was really a bad design on Nintendos part. Since I don't even have a DS anymore I guess I will pass this one up.

Only been 2 Zelda games (well minus the CDI games) I have not bothered to finish and that is the ORacle of Ages and Phantom Hourglass. Didn't like ORacle of Seasons that well either.

The fact that you completed Zelda II is an achievement in and above itself. I would play Phantom Hourglass for eternity before picking up that game again; I applaud you. Smiley: clap

Did people just not realize that you could skip 90% of the repeated dungeon each time?
#15 Dec 03 2009 at 7:02 PM Rating: Good
I wont. For me, the storyline ended with Wind Waker.

Well, as I enjoyed phantom hourglass, I shall probably enjoy this as well.

Course I can understand why PH was not received that well.

He's talking about the blue teleport portal after opening the insignia sealed door, but it really only lets you skip about 30-50% of the dungeon.

No, those are only parts of it. The new items you get from each dungeon allow you to skip the other 40% of them by opening up shortcuts.

It's really not even remotely close to doing the same dungeon over and over again.

But you still have to physically go to each level in order to use the shortcut; therefore, you "do" the same dungeon over and over again.

The train driving? You aren't completely alone.

I'm going to start playing tonight and see if it's any fun. Everyone I know who has played it so far likes it.

I just finished Phantom Hourglass in anticipation of getting Spirit Tracks during the holidays. I really dug the controls for some reason so if they add to that I'll enjoy it enough to justify someones purchase.
