FYI, you can get Awakenings for $5 on the EA site.

Use the promo code: PAXEAST842 for $20 off a $40 order.

Also if you use an easily obtained reward from recyclebank.com you can get $15 off of every PS3/360 game on the EA site as well, however you will need to buy some other games to get back up to $40.

I literally just got 7 PS3 games for $35 doing this. Just a heads up for anyone else looking for good deals.

Thanks for the info, too bad EA prices their games so if you buy less than 3 games the price would be just under $40 which would prevent the code from kicking in.

Could you go into a bit more detail about the recyclebank.com offer? I looked on their site and couldn't find anything about EA games.

Edit: Nevermind, I found the information. This trick is only good till 04/09/2010 though, that's when the PAX code expires.

  • The reason why the total goes from $59.80 to $42.19 is that they deducted the $20 from the PAX code before adding the tax.

Hi! I know I'm several months late on this, but I finally beat it(1st time). I figured resurrecting a thread was better than making an entirely new one. Not a bad game, definitely feels like a successor to the Baldur's Gate series.

I played through as a human female mage. I liked my character a lot. I think second time will be a warrior. I didn't like how easily my character was killed. Overall it seemed pretty easy except a few places. The difficulty was more 'oops mage got one-shotted again, reload and fight again' than anything. Sometimes that was more annoying than difficult, but overall not too bad. One place one the first floor of the last place took 4 or 5 times and was a bit frustrating- especially since the game decided to crash for the first time over right when I beat it.

One thing that made me laugh out loud: On the very last boss, when Alister goes to kill it and gets knocked down, my MAGE grabs a two handed sword, expertly runs up and slits the dragon's throat and spins around and stabs it through the head. I'm like **** B WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU COULD WIELD THOSE THINGS!!

Off to start my warrior! I think I might make him male so I can 'bed' a few of the characters. giggity giggity!

Well, your mage could have been a closet Arcane Warrior...

On a funny note, I actually got my mom into playing it. She used to play D2 all the time, but hasn't been back to it since. She'll get through the plot to somewhere near the Landsmeet then roll another character. I think she's played every Origin so far (some more than once), but hasn't finished the game once. Possibly because we told her she'd had to read guides to get things to happen the way she wants in the event mentioned above.

Very funny to talk to her after work and hear she's started yet another character. She also liked to talk about how her female dwarf rogue had been "doing everyone".

Well, for those of you with $5 to spare and nothing better to do, the newest DLC is out today, called The Darkspawn Chronicles, in which you play a darkspawn and try to kill all your friends.

I, myself, can't be bothered with it. Just not interested in playing a darkspawn.

I might be interested if they had patched the ******* freezing issue on PS3.
