I have been looking for the creatures that drop all shards. I have been able to locate most of them, but I am having a problem finding where I can get ruby shards...Please help if anyone knows.
There's a named Oathbreaker that can pop in at least 2 places normally occupied by spirits at Amon Amrun in the Fields of Fornost that can drop ruby shards. The main location is in the gazebo in the center of the ruins, and the second is next to a crumbled wall to the west of the ruins.
Edit: Also, it would be really nice to have that list of shard locations you've been working on. Could you post it here?
Edit #2: Got him again; his name is Nodmor and this time he was roaming on the north side of the ruins.

I can post all that I find and the location of them once i can get them all written down.
Try camping the area just inside the Fields of Fornost from Evendim. There is a signature gaunt-man (with summoned minion) that roams here frequently. Killing all the Oathbreakers in and near the ruins (Glirost) helps to spawn him.
I was browsing various Lotro sites the other day and I found a great list of shard dropping mob locations. The list is alphabetical by mob name, and the shard type is listed in the right column.
