Hardest game everFollow

#27 Sep 26 2009 at 2:47 AM Rating: Good
A few mentioned here were hard. Zelda II, I have never beaten. I used Game Genie for Battletoads so I can't really say anything for that. Chip N Dale I could never beat without using any codes. I would get three levels until the end and blow it everytime. If I played with my brother he would constantly throw apples at my head and make me dizzy. I wasn't able to do anything and I would constantly cry to my mom that he wasn't being fair.

Roger Rabbit wasn't exactly hard but I got scared everytime I heard the sirens and didn't like the fact that someone was coming to get me so I would just go into the next opened building and hide. Eventually I got to the end but it definately took me a long time.

Earthbound I think I got stuck. I should really plug the system back in and try it now that I'm older.

Secret of Mana was the best game ever!

I'm pretty sure that the Eagle's Nest dungeon was responsible for the entire emo subculture.
Oh god this. No idea how long it took me back when I was 8 years old to figure out how to do that dungeon. Throw a black ball at pillars. F*ck.

I don't know if Return to Zork, specifically that ******* swamp, was really that hard, or if it was just because I was much younger.

Not the hardest, but Lunatic Tohou is pretty rough. Nethack is in the same boat.

I remember that after I saw AGVNs Silver Surfer video that my friend had the game and next time I saw him I played it...

I'll tell you, never before have I ever played anything that made me want to kill something. That sad silver man on the surf board is forever engrained in my brain... nothing matches it.. not the Chocobo thing in FFXI when you have to dodge those birds, not flying through rings in Superman 64, not the stupidity of rambo on the nes, not the fact that crabs can kill you in FFXI, nothing.

What's sad is after any new episode of AVGN, I always boot up the rom of the particular game he rants about and try it out for myself. I found myself raging as well after a few minutes; Especially on Castlevania II. **** that tornado. **** pickle.

Any of the Megaman games from 4 on gave me a hard time.
Admittedly, I always kinda sucked at those anyway. :P

They're saying that new Atlus game, Demon's Souls, is supposed to be incredibly difficult. I'm kind of excited by it.

Airman's stage was cake for me, even at 8 years old. Now doing Heatman's stage without Item 2 is a *****.

Edit: Look at the first picture in the second row. Is "I, Air Man" gonna be the next Will Smith movie?

Well, from what I understand, Atlus is merely licenses many games and brings them to the US audience. Which is why they have so many games of such a wide variety. Even though many tend to be Strategy/Tactical RPG types.

They do both. Atlus USA (says the wiki) is a publisher (localizer) only, but Atlus itself is a developer. Shin Megami Tensai is developed by atlus, whereas it just published Disgaea and Tactics Ogre and such. Basically, trauma center and megami tensai are the main things that they developed, and other stuff is just published.

Dance Dance Revolution, I'm no longer young and that game is too fast for me old bones.

Edit- In the NES era I really struggled with up scrolling games. 1941, 1942, Legendary Wings and the lot. Galaga at the arcade I was pretty good at, but those up scrollers at home I stunk at.

Any of the Dizzy games, back in the day you were using one of those cheap plastic crappy joysticks to control the aforesaid somersaulting egg.

SERIOUSLY, ONE LIFE? FOR A PLATFORMER? NO SAVE POINTS? AAAAAAAARGH!!!
