I'm perfectly happy with my 60gb, but the XMB 3.0 firmware looks good, and I think the price drop was long overdue.

I wonder if my walmart will lower the price of the 160gig they had, that was bundled with uncharted, killzone 2, littlebigplanet and the first season of terminator on bluray.

Without PS2 compatibility, I'm not interested. Too many game systems hooked up around the house as is so any new ones need to be able to replace an existing one instead of adding to the mix.

This is basically how I feel. I loved the PSone compatibility that the PS2 has and it was a deciding factor in my purchasing. I was tempted to get a PS3 but the non-compatibility made me wait. I still don't have one.

Yeah, I jumped on the 60gb when they discontinued them, and I'm glad I did. You might want to look into finding one, I know they're out there. The PS3 has a pretty low failure rate (10%) according to reports the 360 is up to 54% Smiley: yikes

didnt know there was a price cut. Sweet news to me.
I am on the same boat with the ps2 compatibility, but there are a few games I'd like to play and well...there are 2 working and a 3rd that works sometimes PS2 in my house. So it isn't like I'd be giving up on my ps2 games.

Uncharted 2 looks tasty, and I think next year is going to be a banner year for gamers on all platforms. Mass Effect 2, FFXIII and XIV, etc, etc. Seems like every game people are looking forward too got bumped to 2010, might have to start selling plasma to pay for them all.

299$ with 120GB hard drive.

Damn I feel cheated lol. My 40GB PS3 cost me $399 a year and a half ago. I should have waited and hunted down a refurbished 60GB model, but when I get excited about something, patience is not a virtue I possess. And I'm still pissed that it doesn't have any backwards compatibility.

Well, it's actually a reasonable price now. If I didn't already have the 360 I'd pick one up.

I agree with Jopheil. I had a Ps3 60 gig but money as tight and had to sell it. If I was to ever buy another one I would want one that plays all my ps2 games. Not only does it save from hooking two game systems up but it really made the PS2 games look good on my HDTV.

Still not worth the price, especially without PS2 compatibility.

IMO (and yeah im probably alone here with all you nintendo fanboys) it was worth $400 more than the Wii was worth $250.

I dont actually regret buying my PS3.

Whether you're alone or not, I can still count on my hands the games I'd get on the ps3. It might actually be one hand.

Nintendo has plenty of faults. Sony had plenty of expensive faults, and now they just have plenty of regular faults.

I feel the same way about the 360. I have 10 games for the PS3, and I'm looking forward to 4-5 more being released next year. Not really looking forward to anything on the 360. My wii hasn't been turned on in months.

I'm the other way around. I have a dozen games for the 360. I have two games for the PS3. I'm not looking forward to much on the PS3, except FFXIII, which isn't even an exclusive, but I will be buying it for the PS3 just so I have a game which I want to play on the PS3.

But yes, my Wii hasn't turned on in a long time. Paper Mario wasn't nearly as RPG-styled as I had hoped.

But then again, I'm an RPG fan, and clearly this generation, 360 has dominated that category (consoles, not handhelds, since I have tons of RPGs for the DS)

depends what system you got games on i guess. if i did it all over again i would prolly buy most of the cross-platform games on the PS3 rather than 360. PS3 is a great system no doubt.

Most of the games came out on the 360 first though.

My issue with the 360 is disk size versus the PS3, that and it sounds like a goddamn jet engine when it's running.

The games I'm looking forward to on the PS3 are FFXIII, FFXIV (might get this on the PC), White Knight Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Gran Tourismo 5, etc.

I'm sure you know this already but Arc Rise Fantasia should be out sometime in spring and Tales of Graces will hopefully also come out in america sometime next year.

My wii will be turned on again when the MP trilogy comes out, and probably again again when I finish eternal sonata and last remnant, so I can finish tales of symphonia 2 and other M (which I'm sure will be out by that point)

Hmm, I might actually pick one up at the price. I do have that extra HDMI port sitting unused so I might as well find something to plug in there. Speaking of price drops, I just saw the exact TV I bought nine months ago for ninety dollars less and a one six inches larger for the price I paid.Smiley: mad Yeah, I felt that needed a mention somewhere.
