I need a MMO . . .Follow

to play :p

I finally stepped out of the stone age of Dial-up and set foot into cable land.

I need some help picking one/two/few to try out.

-It needs to be free (I'm not ready to return to WoW just yet).
It can have a cash shop, as long as the game isn't game breaking if i do NOT buy from it.

-It would be grand if I could solo play, but have the option to group (was going to try and get a brother (or both) to play with me, now that we can have more then one of our comps online at once ^-^) and it not kill the vibe of the game.

Games I have played and would rather not again (thus the need for help..):

-Maple Story. I just can't get into it. Anyone who is/was is plain crazy to me >.>

-Runescape. No, just no.

-Ether Saga. Currently playing this, was fun for awhile, but now the "travel" time just kills it for me. This game is owned by the people of Perfect World. PW is pretty, but was blah to me.

-Runes of Magic. I followed this game, was all excited to give it a try. I don't care that it is a WoW/FXI/EQ mash up. It was neat for about 20min, and then it was kind of dull -.-

-Ragnarok. Just isn't for me.

2D/3D, I really don't care. I just needs to be fun for more then 1 day. I'm not a big fan of grinders, but if the game is fun and it has a nice flow I can deal with it.

So some thoughts?was going to check out Free Realms, but it looks like it is aimed for kids.

I played Anarchy Online for a while. It was.. okay, though really I just needed it to kill time with because I didn't want to renew my WoW subscription. It's an interesting concept, in a world where nanotechnology has been taken to the extreme, but after exiting the starter area I was just lost for something to do. You can receive "missions", aka quests, from these sort of computer terminal things, and then you're off to try and find your way to wherever they send you in order to, basically, kill someone or retrieve something. The "dungeons" where these quests take part are basically just series of interconnected rooms, though I'll admit I didn't get far enough to make sweeping claims about them.

If you decide to try it out, I absolutely recommend looking online for some sort of guide to it, because there's very little documentation in-game to set you on your way.

Yeah, AO is the only one I can really think of that's free and isn't Maple Story. I played it a few years back and it was pretty fun. I just liked WoW better. :-)

Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine!, great mixture between strategy and action, looks great, good story that you most likely will be interested in.

Just before you try it, be sure to check out the forums section.

Also if you don't like it aeria games have many other free mmo's.

Might have to try this.

I went through my bookmarks, and it looks like I bookmarked games that were in closed beta. Or someone did for me >.>
Trying out Dragonica. Looks kind of like a 3D Maple Story, game play is going to take a few to get use to (for real, game companies, let the players set up their Keyboard the way they want >.>)

the game link is for like the English version, but not for NA. NA's is suppose to come out next Tuesday..wasn't waiting that long :p

<3 my Bard. Nothing like strumming deathnotes out of harps.

sweet.
I wish FFXI's bard (maybe it has changed, but I'm guessing no) had more then one "song".
I could sing the same song to boost the party, or to kill a bunny. . .
(the sound that is, not the same song as in text)

I've been playing the Dragonica game I linked. It is kind of fun.
It is like Maple Story (a game I hate) but in 3D.
It should entertain me until I decide to get back into WoW.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If you like neat action, kung fu or karate, decent animation and aren't hugely bothered by storyline, but expect good playability then I suggest 9dragons by acclaim the graphics are good, game play is agin pretty dern nice yes it is free, acclaim offers game coins but unless you are a high level 45 to 50+ they really arent nescesary. I have been playing it for a couple motnhs and i enjoy it, just google 9dragons read the beginners guide and help pages real well and go have fun
