Guild TaxFollow

So whats with this Guild Tax and how does it work really?
My current guild is ranked 38 and has a guild tax of 50%

Im asking this question cause when people loot, im basically losing 1 or 2 brass coins per loot. I never thought i would be losing money doing something.
What gives

is 50% tax too high or what?
