I saw this and figured I'd spread the word. It's actually pretty fun to watch.
The guys over at The Speed Gamers are having a Final Fantasy Marathon for 7 days straight, raising money for the charity Act Today!, which provides assistance to families with autistic children.
They're going to play every Final Fantasy game in the series (even roughly 12 hours of XI), and try to beat them all within the 7 day limit, while accepting donations. Their goal is to raise $20,000.
It's kinda entertaining to watch, and they even have a chat setup and will talk with the people through it. They've already gotten to the first page of Digg and raised about 5% of their goal in the first 3 hours.
They're also going to be doing prizes. If you donate at least $5, then they're going to enter you into a drawing. The winner of the drawing gets to spin the "Wheel of Destiny" and win a prize (Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn.). They repeat the exact details about every half hour or so.
Go head over there and watch a bunch of fellow nerds playing classic video games for charity. It's surprisingly entertaining.
