played LOTRO on beta, and since have played off and on (right now I have an active subscription, but only play about once a week.)

It's a great game, very entertaining, and I'm very much considering getting the lifetime subscription because I go back to it so often, and think I would even more were it always available to me. My reasons for not playing on a more permanent basis are rather simple, and have nothing to do with the game at all. I'm just cursed with an overnight shift and, unfortunately, there just aren't enough night-owls around. That being said, this is truly a great MMO, has an interface that is better than just about any other MMO out there. I'm a fan :)

Currently I'm playing the Trial and loving it!

* Trial: Thanks to this, the beginning areas are more populated and more fun!

* Headphones: When I wear mine during game play, I can notice a lot more sounds
and it feels more immersive. I also have a Yamaha surround system that
I can plug into for the theater effect.

* Benches: Can we get more of these outside, in town to sit on?

* Raids: I use to do this in WoW, but I don't really enjoy how long it takes
and being bosses around by inflated egos. I like to play for about
15 mins, take a short break then back at it =)

* Night-owls: Not too many late night gamers , after midnight. Perhaps something
can be done about this? Maybe make it free for a few hours for people
that can't afford the Sub. I was at the festival last night at the Party Tree
with the Hobbits and I only saw 1 or 2 other people in 45 minutes.

"The more the merrier" does apply here =)

I am a "mature" player and I never thought that I would play MMORPG with all the "kids", but I love playing LOTRO. I have been a fan of Tolkien for many years. For a number of those years, I waited for a movie that would do Tolkien justice. Thank you Peter Jackson and New Line. Then I was hoping for a game. At first I thought of something with the computer, like Warcraft, but we got LOTRO and a great job it was.

I have been on for almost two years. The kinship system has worked well for me as a noob learning the ins and outs of the game. As a Tolkein fan I remember when my first character was transported to Rivendell by one of my hunter kin and I got to meet Frodo, Bilbo, and Elrond for the first time.

Mines of Moria came at about the right time when we were getting tired of the Misty Moutains and Angmar. I especailly like some of the changes in Book 8 where a number of the low level quest bestower NPCs have been moved around so it isn't so much same old same old as you develop new characters.

The one negative I've found about Book 8 is the almost impossible difficulty in getting crit items especially for tailors as has been pointed out in some forums, it makes little sense for crit drops to come from wood when a tailor uses hides. Why not drop the items from animals. I've spent a lot of silver in the AH trying to come up with those items.

All in all my helm is off to the folks at Turbine for make a great game and being true to JRR Tolkien.

I love playing Lord of the Rings. I love most everything about it. I do think the crafting gets monotonous and expensive, especially considering many of the drops are better than what can be crafted and deeds are monotonous. Other than that, I love this game.

For me, LOTRO is all about being true to J.R.R. Tolkien's fantastic world. Besides reminding me of the atmosphere in Tolkien's books and the scenery of the superb film by Peter Robert Jackson, the narrative that runs through the game, unmarring the original tales of Middle-Earth, feels great and quite hooking. Though the slaying of monsters does indeed get sometimes boring, I do find that the neatly executed interactional part of the game (forming fellowships, chatting etc), crafting abilities and most of all, all constant improvements and surprises within this game's very respectful and true conception, lift Lord Of The Rings Online above all other massively multiplayer games. I can't think of many suggestions to make due to the fact I've only played the trial version of the game plus some time within the 'welcome back' week, but it seems to me that there should be more player vs player 'battleground' action (like monsters vs good characters). Also, crafting could be made more 'custom', meaning that one could design more freely what one wants to make and wear (the keyword being creativity). About the 'welcome back week' and the summer festival thing I must comment that this is all pretty much awesome (especially for me as I have quite a few reasons why I can't subscribe to LOTRO in a normal manner). Oh, and one more thing...the music is great and fits very nicely but it could be for the better if it changed once in a while (meaning every three months or so...)(musical background and its 'fresh' quality can add quite much to the fascinating sensation of gameplay and to players interest in the game). All in all, Lord of the Rings Online is a mighty fine enterprise and the only MMORPG I'd call thoroughly enjoyable.

Good Day Lotro-ites!
Its been over 2 yeasrs since i started play with my best friend, we played beta, open beta and day of launch,
created a Kinship, and then moria beta, we are a close knit community of friends/players, a great place to play. We are both raid minded and low level inclined playing Kin, and always willing to help anyone that asks. To put it bluntly, i just wish a few small things.
Turbine would take less time finding things to break and more time fixing them, so that players are not left waiting for CSR's that are not helping, but moreover refering to their book of reasons why they can not help you. In all the time that i have been here, one CSR was able to help me, and it was with CD, as i am sure that you are aware that it is broken again, as this issue has occoured before, i am just glad that now, we are given the option to wait a csr out and get ported inside.
My post is to say that i will be with Lotro for the rest of my gaming days, but i wish that turbine would put forth the same effort to fix what we pay for, as we put forth to endure waiting for them to.
Thanks for letting me rant, GL to all applicants. May We All Have FUN In Game! (can't we all just get along while we run about middle earth and kill things?)
