Well, it looks like it's release day for the newest DLC for Fallout 3 on the 360(you PC and PS3 folks get to wait). I was actually looking forward to this until I found out that they are not raising the level cap with this one. As it is I've barely even touched the main storyline in Broken Steel and I'm already level 30. It really doesn't take that long to level up if you're like me and explore a lot.

I'd like to get the new DLC but with not being able to get EXP and level up, the new Perks are completely unavailable to me. I think I'm passing on this one, hopefully fifth DLC will raise the cap. I'm loving this game, but the level cap is a serious hindrance.Smiley: glare

Poor console users and tehre forced level caps.

I think I was 27ish before any of the DLC came out.

I thought Broken Steel was supposed to be the last DLC for Fallout 3.

Just reroll a new character if you're at the cap.

I play on PC & when I first started, didn't bother with the games for windows live thing. Then, the first expansion came out & I realized it couldn't be played unless you logged into G4WL. Once you did, you were a new user, & had no access to the other data, so I just rerolled.

I've now played through the main story & all the expansion, including Point Lookout, & am level 28.

I also got to do all the things I didn't do the first time through: blew up Megaton, got an apartment at Tenpenny's, & got in with the Slavers.

Then Broken Steele came out & used the Karma perk to be good again.

As for Point Look Out:

It's pretty cool & has a real "Lovecraftian" Vibe to it. I also play on hard & since the introduction of the level 30 mobs (Mutant Overlords, Feral Ghoul Reavers) the game has gotten much harder. I've got a lot of the named weapons & they all seem to do jack **** to these mobs. And while the Mutants aren't around the Point, Ghoul Reavers seem to be a part of each "pack" of Ghouls you run into.

And the "hick" mobs that are unique to the Point? Also very high level.

At the moment, I have completed the Spy quest & gotten a named bolt action rifle. Besides my Alien Blaster & Tesla cannon, it seems to be the only thing doing much damage to these mobs. Haven't found the named Double Barrel Shotgun yet, but the NQ one doesn't seem to do much.

I made the mistake of selling my Alien Blaster once I ran out of ammo. Then I found some more of it in Broken Steel.Smiley: mad As to the Reavers making the game harder, I have a Ghoul Mask, whenever I wear it I don't get attacked by any Ghouls unless I attack one of them first. Super Mutant Overlords really aren't that hard, my Gatling Laser makes short work of them.

Actually, all you have to do is go into the folder where it saves the games and move your saves from your offline profile to whatever one you logged into GFWL with.

It's cool. At this point I play with mods on the old character, & expansions w/the G4WL 1.

Ones a good girl with heavy armor & big friggin' guns, the other's a sneaky ******* who strangles people in their sleep.

It's neat.
