Making the most of my DS.Follow

I started bringing my DS with me everywhere lately, as life has been kind of stop and go. I find myself idle a lot. I don't have a lot of games, I really only bought Phoenix Wright games and Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics 2, Crystal Chronicles, and the older Pokemon games.

I don't get a lot of use out of my touchscreen, and I was wondering why? Are there any games that wield easier using the touchscreen? So far I haven't encountered any.

Aside from that, recommend me some games regardless of the touchscreen? Office life sucks.

Advance Wars made good use of the touch screen, otherwise it usually just made things more difficult IMO.

You should get the World Ends with You and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. They both make good use of the touch-screen.

I found the touchscreen controls made Zelda more difficult to control then the normal pad would have been. It was very useable though just not what Id prefer. Game itself got old since it forced you to do the exact same dungeon over and over again. One of the few Zelda games I couldn't stand to play through.

Trauma Center UtK and UtK2. They are inferior to the wii Trauma Centers, but still quite excellent.

There are three really really good castlevanias on the DS. Order of Ecclesia is kind of hard if you want a challenge.

Suikoden Terkreis is a decent rpg. Gameplay is much more rpg typical than other Suikoden. Story is and themes are typical suikoden, but less subtle. Better than 4, equal to 3, worse than 1 5 and 2

Advance Wars DS and Days of Ruin. DS is lighthearted; Days of Ruin is very, very serious. They're both excellent games.

Luminous Arc is okay. Typical srpg with a fairly cliche' story.

Twewy is an extremely good rpg, but it's not very typical of square. I'm honestly surprised that it's rated T and not M. It's extremely dark sometimes.

Metroid Prime Hunters pushes the DS graphics to it's limit as well as uses a very good touchscreen control system. It's purely an FPS, and lacks much of the exploration and adventure that defines metroid.

Ninja Gaiden DS is entirely touchscreen controlled except for blocking (any button press blocks). Playing on hard mode is comparable to NG1 on xbox.

EBA - Good music game. Highly entertaining humour, typically hard challenge for music game fans when on hard rock, decent song selection, entirely touchscreen controlled.

Lunar Knights - An action adventure game made by Hideo Kojima. Spritual sucessor to Boktai, but doesn't use an actual solar sensor.

Sonic Chronicles - Bioware's attempt to save sonic. They are mildly successful. Touch controlled.

Sonic Rush - Imagine if Sonic 2 on Genesis had a save feature and an air kick, and more bottomless pits. Best sonic game since SAB2

Oh

Golden Sun DS

You're welcome

Kirby's Canvas Curse was one of the first games I got for the DS, and it is a great one, and makes great use of the touch screen (although I could not for the life of me figure out how to do the final boss for some reason). Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is pretty good, and Ninja Gaiden is quite good. I was surprised at NG, because I expected a game like that to be horrible for the touch screen, but it's actually pretty intuitive and the way you hold the DS is more comfortable than you might think. Definitely worth checking out.

you use the touch screen in this game? I'm only an hour or so in..don't remember using the touch screen..

Games that use the touch screen that I have:

-Zelda Phantom Hour Glass
-Mario 64 DS
-Touchmaster 1 & 2
-Rhythm Haven (this game sucks actually, the game is too hard imo -.-)
-Moon (1st person shooter, kind of like Metroid Prime)
-Mini Big Bang

That is all i can think of atm.

Knights in the Nightmare makes excellent use of the Touch Screen.

It's an Atlus game. Strategy RPG, and if you can make it through the boring, long, tutorials... the gameplay is kinda fun.

I know this is an old thread and all, but I figured I'd say thanks. I tried out a couple of the games. Kirby was a good game for bus stops, I got my money's worth out of it.

Zelda was a little obnoxious to control at first, but once I got used to it, I liked it a lot more. That game stood up to its name, for sure. Some of those puzzles were a *****. D:
