So, I saw this video a couple weeks ago. And I've been worried. I wish I could say I didn't usually worry about characters dying in games, books and movies, but I do. And I was genuinely concerned that a character I loved might be gone.

But it may not be so. Or maybe it is.

Bobdammit. Now I have to wait for this damn game to come out. I'm not good at waiting. Smiley: motz

Killing shepard would be retarded. Who else would you even play as, captain anderson? Starting fresh worked in kotor 2 because they came up with an entirely new story and kotor 1 had a full end to it; crossovers were placed into kotor 2 simply for the sake of continuity, but had very little to do with the plot. Mass Effect ended on the very premise that shepard would have to rally the biologicals for the Yuuzhan Vong reapers.

One of the folks from your original party, maybe?

There's also speculation that the first video isn't a misreporting of Shepard's death, but instead isn't referring to the beginning of the game. Which, if true, would mean that you'll be playing as another character in game 3.

Yeah, I really need to pick up a copy of the first one after I finish up Fallout 3.

Why would you? None of them are protagonist material, and that sort of method is antithetical to bioware's history of games. You always create your own character, even if parts of them become canonized, such as the exile being female.

Similarly stupid. Ditching a protagonist just completely rapes story continuity. If they want to ***** the license and make three games that have barely anything to do with each other, then I guess knocking off the main dude can work. If they want to tell a story, they shouldn't.

Commander Shepard can die (storyline) in Mass Effect 2 depending on the choices you make in the game at various points.

This makes me wonder even more...

Quote:
"Two years after Commander Shepard repelled invading Reapers bent on the destruction of organic life, a mysterious new enemy has emerged. On the fringes of known space, something is silently abducting entire human colonies. Now Shepard must work with Cerberus, a ruthless organization devoted to human survival at any cost, to stop the most terrifying threat mankind has ever faced.

Guess they do just want to ***** the license and abandon story Smiley: disappointed

Unless the Reapers are involved with the colony abductions somehow.

I saw that.

I mean obviously I'm going to reserve actual judgment for when I play it. This is just hypothetical teeth gnashing.

Know what I hope they add more of? Exploration of civilized worlds. It would be awesome to go to some civilized human city like that one in bring doiwn the sky whose name I can't remember, or an assari world or something, or the flotilla.

If you get Shepard killed in ME 2, then in ME 3 you play as *a* Shepard. Seeing as you're an only child (as far as we know from the first game)...

If you do have sex with Liara I believe she does give you an account of how Asari reproduce. They make another Asari which has physical characteristics of the other species, and of course are always female.

huh... I wonder if quarians are hot under those helmets.

You don't have to have sex with her for the recounting. Asari reproduction does not require sex, they use their mind powers to read the DNA of the "father" species (which can be male or female) and use it to produce their offspring.

And honestly. Who didn't have sex with Liara?

No, it's not required, but Liara sure was eager as hell anyways.

All of my female characters sexed Liara, simply because I didn't like Kaiden, except that one time I accidentally had the first relationship conversation with him, and for some reason they still made nookie. But all of the other times, it was totally with Liara. She's so geekily adorable that she could even melt the heart of a rock..

My Renegade(and male) Shepard is ending up with Ashley. My Paragon(and female) Shepard ended up with Liara.

Also, I have to say that keeping that fan guy on the hook long enough to intimidate him is the most hilarious thing ever.

You put a gun to his face and make him cry like a little *****.

In my search for the actual conversation between Verner and Shepard if you intimidate...I got a big kick out of reading all the stuff Wikiquote has from Mass Effect. I've apparently missed out on some gems in my efforts to be nice to my crewmates even when going Renegade.

I did like the religious references Ashley made in that game, contributing toward her character but not dominating her personality: heaven, God, and even a touch of religious fervor that defined her stance on war.
