The amount of Kirby pornography that Kirby has on his computer is a bit mind boggling.

FF8: My first one and I love it so shaddup.
FF11: Spent more of the past 5 years of my life playing this game than almost anything else.
FF10: Just a beautiful, fun game.

I liked Final Fantasy X, IX and IV. I even liked Tactics and the despised X-2.

X-2 was ******* awesome when you realized that they had a job system.

Have you plays 6 anna? It's probably the second most popular, but I believe that it earns it; some people don't.

Well, if you hadn't purchased a DSi, you could have played the GBA game in Slot 2 of your DS or DS Lite.

The gba version was horribly translated. I don't care if it's more accurate.

Locke does not threaten to rip your lungs out
Kefka exclaims "Son of a sandworm" on the approach to figaro.

They might have taken out "run run, or you'll be well done, but I'm not sure.

Oh anna, I think that used GBAsps are 40$ or something at evil inc. gamestop.

VI-best characters
IX-best gameplay
Tactics-best story

9's gameplay suffered an enormous flaw. Your atb counters would keep ticking upwards whenever a player did an action, even on the -wait- selection. This, combined with duration abilities, often left you with 4 people to command at the same time; combine that with the fact that enemies make their choices instantaneously, they would often get more attacks against you than you could do.

Oh, we're counting Tactics then? That definitely screws up my usual ordering, but I'm game ...

#1 - Tactics. No question.
#2 - VI
#3 - IX

If Matsuno hadn't left XII, I've a feeling it would've ranked at least in the top five. I'd love to read his notes someday to see where the story was meant to go in the first place.

IV > II/V > VIII

Aside from Crystalis, IV was my first real exposure to the RPG world, and it's still my favourite. 2 boasts some nifty stat advancement systems, and 5 is probably one of the heaviest FF content wise. 8 I didn't like when I first played through it, but I have started to like it more as time goes on.

FFVII was good at the time, but I'm not really into the whole rpg with technology floating around (for my favourites anyway).

Oops, forgot about tactics. I adored tactics, but to be honest, I don't like it as much now as I used to (maybe because I got everything etc etc, so I've 'beaten' it. Twice. The second time took around 30hrs, first time...a long long time).

I think we established in =22 that I was the only person to think that TA and TA2 were better than psx tactics.

By miles even. Name another game where you are the primary villain. The plot of TA was dark and twisted; mewts father is a ******* drunk, marche gets picked on all the time and has rocks throw at his head by his classmates, and his brother is crippled. The chick (I can't remember her name was the only one without some horrible problem (oh no I have white hair: shut up ****, white hair is sexy)

Then when everyone gets thrown into TA's version of ivalice, the only character brave enough to return the world to normal and lose every single one of his few friends, because he simultaneously realizes the horrible problems in his life and social network, and the fact that you shouldn't escape from your reality. It's a terrible contradiction and conveys the is/ought distinction perfectly.

Sorry, your opinion is wrong.

Tactics was much better than Tactics Advanced.

Allegory, dat'choo?

I suppose you could call it good for its time. I could name at least several srpgs that are much better: Tactics Ogre for example, Front Mission, Disgaea, Fire Emblem 10. You get the picture.

TA is a work of art. Tactics was middle of the road.

Tactics had a much deeper storyline than TA.

"OMG, my life sucks, but it's the real world, we have to face it! Hiding in this make believe place isn't the answer!"

compared to

A deep war between nations, with a vast conspiracy underneath dealing with ancient mystical stones. A single man taking it upon himself to end the corruption, after watching his sister's murder at the hands of those supposed to save her. A boy growing to realize that the people he looked down upon as thieves are there to survive, are an oppressed class of people that was hidden from him throughout childhood.

Biggest flaw of Tactics? It's short. Other than that, the game play is almost perfect. It'd be nice if the storyline missions advanced in difficulty as you leveled like the random battles do, but that's a minor disappointment.

Biggest flaw of Tactics Advanced? The Judge system. Like it's predecessor, it's short. TA2 fixed the judge problem, making it much more enjoyable.

Hey look, I can do strawman arguments as well. And this is one of those very rare cases in which it's true. I don't actually feel like making up some ridiculous analog of what might be the description of your position, because it's getting late and I can't make myself go to bed.

In any case, TA addresses the existential condition of human life. T is a war fiction. You can't get deeper than than the fundamental conditions thrust upon humanity.

Wait a minute, are you on crack? I put 100 hours into one save file before I did everything that you could do.

Hm I guess that would make sense. No rpg is complete without sidequests though, unless they are stupidly convoluted and pile five of them on you when you havent even started on half of them

FFTactics: I love this game.

FF8: I don't care what anyone says, this was the first one I played and it will always be one of my favourites.

FF6: I actually got around to playing it. It's quite good. I'd have listed FFL2 here, but apparently, even though it was released with the Final Fantasy name, I get yelled at for one of my favourite FF games being SaGa 2.

Can I vote for Secret of Evermore? It's got FFIV and FFVI character cameos in it...

Seriously though, 6, 9, 4/5 in that order for me... and of course 11, but it's a totally different breed of game.

EDIT: Spelling...

The flaw of FFT: Once you get Orlandu, the game is too easy.

The flaw of FFTA: It was terrible.
