My armor-maker can join tailor or metalsmith guild. My explorer can join tailor guild, but prior to all this guild additions, I had thought I'd keep all armor-making on one character. So I have about all the levels up to pristine hide (about 3.5 levels) maxed out, and now and wanting to get metal and tailor guild.

Does anyone have any ideas about which would be better for my one character, or else, your suggestions about going ahead and join 2 guilds with 2 characters and redo the tradeskill? Along with rebuying all recipes, too...ouch.

The biggest deal with the guilds is the recipes you can eventually buy so you should choose whichever will support the recipes you want to make more of.

Personally, since my two main characters are a hunter and a rune keeper tailoring is far more important to me then metal armor, so my choice was simple! Hopefully your choice will be as clear...

My problem is that I have 5 characters I play regularly. 3 wear light or medium, 2 wear heavy. So I can conceivably enjoy any of the tradeskills, if I work on all of them.

However, I do like the guilds for the fact that, after reaching the first half of the skill tier you can go on to the next tier, while every 1-3 days, gaining points to eventually max out the tier of the previous.

I decided to go with the metalsmith guild, since ore is harder to get. I also keep my armorer as the same person, since I don’t want to redo the tailor skill. Ultimately, it means that I won’t have access to the tailored recipes that the guild offers, but so far I’ve been very content with quested gear. I think that will continue until 55 at least, which I’m far from it.
