The Tower of Eternity Awaits

Aion: The Tower of Eternity is a visually stunning massively multiplayer online role-playing game featuring cutting-edge imagery, breath-taking environments, and a unique world of fantasy. You play a pivotal role in the fate of Atreia, where flying takes on a completely new role and the enemy is not only the other player faction, but a deadly ancient evil as well.

Here are some distinctive aspects of Aion:

The World: Aion is set in a unique land where players explore the inside of a shattered world, separated into two halves with the Abyss between them.
Aerial Combat: No longer limited to two-dimensional combat on the ground, players in Aion can fly. Now think of online combat on a massive scale where attacks can come in any direction.
PvPvE: Players will be able to engage in intense raids and other encounters with computer opponents, not to mention the opposing player faction.

The 'new' that this Korean produced game is supposed to be bringing to the fantasy MMO is in-flight person to person combat (PvPvE). This 3-D fighting is not really new, and, if it's anything like trying to fight underwater in EQ's Kedge Keep - I'm skeptical. The graphics are supposed to be phenomenal however.

It's in beta, but not sure if it's in beta here - might just be in Korea??

Anyone know anything more.

I don't really know much more than you, but I've been keeping an eye on this game too. Some of the screen shots I've seen are phenomenal, but I'm fairly skeptical that the game will really not be much more than glamour and fluff with no substance.

A couple linkshell mates have been keeping their eye on this as well. It looks decent, but I doubt I'd play it.

I'm keeping an eye on it too. There will be no open-beta for NA. Supposedly, they will just bring it out for special events before it's release sometime this year. I think it looks nice, but will have to try it to see what the gameplay is like. It was mentioned, that it is like WOW in alot of ways. That makes me squirm a little bit, but i'll see for my self.

NA website is up, along with a couple of fansites.

Anyway, here's the link to all that if you care to check it out.

Really? you edited it, to change past to pass? That's it? There is so much more wrong with that sentence... That's like putting a band-aid on a severed limb.

I'm actually playing on the chinese client right now. I can tell you, the graphics are Really nice. The battle animations are pretty sweet too. Lot's of quests to do, and missions. The flying thing is a little strange. You can't fly everywhere, only in certain areas.
As for PVP, i haven't got to it yet. I'm a lvl 12 Assassin atm. You can duel people, but i haven't as of yet, and have only had 1 request to do so.

I have some screenies, so if you want to see them let me know.

Edit: also, if you have any questions about the game, i'll try to answer them to the best of my limited knowledge. ^^

and about PVP, like i said, haven't got there yet, but it seems you could PVE all day long if that's what you want. An occasional duel with a buddy if you don't care for PVP that much. I do like AION's concept of PVPVE though. You have 2 PC realms, and a NPC realm that will either fight against you, or with you depending on the situation.

Sorry for the wall o' text edit lol.

It does indeed looks fun, but unfortunately I do believe I will pass on the PvP if you are required to participate in it in order to partake of the PvE. Also I do not wish my newly purchased frilled shirt and tights to get dirtied by those ill-tempered ruffians.

By the way my good NixNot, would you care for a scone and some tea? Maybe later we can go shopping together for some more frilly shirts.

Honestly, i'm not sure i'll be able to make it to end-game, before my time runs out. I do know, that the main PVP starts at lvl 25. I think that the lvl cap is 50 atm. There is a place in Sanctum called the Colosseum where you can pvp in small groups.

No specs released in english yet. The english patch you get for the game is pretty good though. I haven't seen anything really bad.

The graphics options in game are pretty versatile . I'm willing to bet you can play with some pretty low-end pc, and still like it. I have mine turned up to half, just because the lag. I am playing on a Chinese server after all.

I have a mediocre system at best i guess.

AMD Athalon 64 dual core. 2.o ghtz

4 gigs of DDR2 ram

160 gig sata HD

Gforce 8500 GT. (went for the 1 gig of vram over clock speed when i bought this. Before i realized how useless that was ><.)

Running windows 7 Beta 64-bit.

Edit: Heres another SC. This one is in the asmodian city "Pandamonium". The previous one was a teleporter . That's one of the ways to get around.
