The title means nothing.

You don't get a bonus for having X amount of titles? Are there cooler titles than that one? I guess I won't start over then if its just 1 stupid title that I would eventually replace anyway.

Titles? You want titles? Just try to avoid earning them. You can't! Honestly don't worry about the undying title. We tend to mock people who put a big emphasis on it. Ooh, so you're "Honoria Who Runs From Danger" /snicker.

You'll earn titles for killing X amount of a certain type of creature, titles for completing X amounts of quests in an area, titles for defeating specific mobs, titles for completing crafting tiers. You'll end up with many to choose from.

And yes, I do go for the titles one earns from receiving certain emotes. One of my favorite titles I like to sport now and then is Yanari the Dull. I also have Yanari the Harassed and Yanari, Pie Eating Champion, among others.

I remember a post about this a long time ago. It said, if you want that title, you have to be prepared to re-roll.

Since you're not that prepared, then just keep going! You probably won't miss it.

Like others, I run around without a title more often than not. I only do the deeds for the stat bonuses, not because of wanting titles.

I've never made it yet with any character I have played (that's about 30 or so by now). I keep trying, of course, but I got past the point of deleting them and starting over. Got just TOO tired of the newbie areas. And since you get nothing for the title, you won't really miss it if you never have it. Also, some people feel that someone who does have it is a "hanger back" letting other people do the work for them. This isn't true, of course, but the feeling is definitely there in the chats at times.
