Star Ocean: The Last HopeFollow

Is anyone playing this? I am curious on how to get the crafting started?

SE made another really good game, it reminds me of Phantasy Star, but with a story line.

You go talk to Welch in the room opposite the cockpit. Have your television on mute.

And Phantasy Star 4 had an awesome story. Lousy kids. Smiley: motz

I'm playing it.

You cannot start crafting until a little ways into the game. (Personally I was about 4 hours into the game when I accessed the crafting, but I ran around a bit on the first planet leveling up and exploring every knook and cranny).

I'm not sure where you are in the story, so I'll say you cannot access the crafting until you get party member #3.

How the hell is Welch in a prequel... unless she's a 4-D being... (How she could be openly using a cell phone on a planet where such technology doesn't exist and not have anyone freak out doesn't make sense.)

Anyway, is the crafting in this one more like Star Ocean 1 and 2 or like 3? I personally liked the old system much better, but if Welch is in it, I'm guessing they're not going back to it.

Lymle grows on you, it ends up being kind of cute. Welch grows on you, too. Like a cancer eating away at your soul.

Except for the "'kay" part.

Those little ending phrase things never adapt well into English.

Is it as bad as the voice acting in eternal sonata? I swear I had to change the voices to japanese just to make it sound more natural.

So far Lymle is the only odd voice. The rest of the cast was pretty good. (Other than Welch being incredibly annoying, but that's on purpose).

Lymle is just so... monotonous and emotionless. But I guess that's just the way she is. She puts 'kay at the end of a lot of her sentences. Which makes her even more odd, cause you normally relate that to like, cute upbeat happy way of talking... but it's just so off with her.

Yeah, usually going from Japanese to English for these sort of catch phrases doesn't work out too well, to a point of wanting to tear your ears out, but somehow it makes Lymle kind of unique, and it's not so far off from the original like Kenshin's "de gozaru" to "that I did" and Naruto's "dattebayo" to "believe it." As far as I can tell, from Youtube, Lymle was monotonous in the first place, and seems to end all her sentences in (forgive my lack of actual knowledge on the language, by the way) "yo."

I don't know, like I said, it's kind of weird, but you get use to it. Especially after offerings from Sarah and Welch. I could just be weird ...
